9 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Gregor Samsa! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Hugh Johnson and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hume lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Samsa misses the jab. Hume is looking to clinch. An inside leg kick lands from Hume. Hume swings away with a leg kick that misses. Samsa throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Hume is looking to score with low kicks. Hume has closed the distance and engaged Samsa in a clinch.
Hume tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Samsa just stands there and leans against the cage. Hume throws a knee to the head but misses.
Hume misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Samsa.
Samsa wants to break free but Hume has control.
Hume keeps control of Samsa as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Samsa tries to land knees in the clinch but Hume avoids the damage to the body. Hume with an attempt at a knee that misses.

That's one minute gone in the round. Hume just leaning against Samsa, taking a breather. Hume manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Samsa trying to control but Hume is working from the bottom. Samsa postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Hume is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Samsa, into his guard. Hume wants to control from the top but Samsa keeps moving. Hume throws a big right hand that misses. Hume loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Samsa controls Hume momentarily but Hume frees himself. Samsa pushes Hume off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Hume throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Samsa works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Hume is looking to work some ground and pound but Samsa has wrist control. Hume trying to control the position from guard on top but Samsa is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Samsa is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hume distracts Samsa with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Hume pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Samsa is keeping the position for now. Samsa keeping moving, preventing Hume from controlling successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hume lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Samsa is trying to control the position but Hume postures up. Hume with a flurry of punches that miss. Hume trying to control but Samsa is working from the bottom. Hume throws a big right hand that misses. Hume connects with a couple of short punches. Hume throws a big elbow that misses. Samsa is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Samsa escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hume gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Hume works over Samsa with some ground and pound from guard. Hume is looking to work some ground and pound but Samsa has wrist control. Hume in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Hume postures up.

Hume missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Hume trying to control the position from guard on top but Samsa is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hume fails in his attempt to clinch.

Samsa letting Hume take a breather here. The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Hume for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure. Samsa is looking to break free of the clinch but Hume has double underhooks. Hume is working for takedown but Samsa is calmly controlling the position for now. Hume wants the takedown. Samsa is fighting it off but Hume persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Samsa's guard against the cage. Samsa is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Samsa utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Samsa wants to get back to his feet but Hume is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Hume working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Samsa working a defensive guard here.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hume has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Hume lands a couple of decent looking shots. Hume throws a strike but Samsa rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Hume has a closed guard, preventing Samsa from standing up. The ref stands the fighters back up. Gregor Samsa was stalling too much, according to the referee. Samsa takes a kick to the side of the head.

Hume working the head and body with strikes. Samsa is pressing down on Hume's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! Hume is looking to work some ground and pound but Samsa has wrist control. Hume postures up.

Samsa throws a nice looking combination but Hume bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Hume throws a head kick that misses and Samsa counters with a nice uppercut. Hume scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Samsa slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Hume prevents Samsa from getting back to his feet. Hume with a nice head shot there. Samsa being controlled here, momentarily. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hume throws a strike but Samsa rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Samsa is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Hume trying to control but Samsa is working from the bottom. Samsa trying to keep a closed guard but Hume is proving a slippery customer.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Hume's corner. There ya go! There ya go! A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hume accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Hume makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Samsa is rocked!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hume works over Samsa with some ground and pound from guard. Samsa is still in real trouble! Can Hume finish him? Hume postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Samsa covers up, he's hurt! Hume keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Hume and the ref steps in to end the fight! Hume can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.

Hunt darts in trying to clinch and Ali counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hunt won't be happy with that. Ali working the ground and pound from side control. Ali works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hunt tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ali wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Ali working the body and head with strikes. Hunt taking punishment in the form of punches.

He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Ali prevents Hunt from standing back up.

He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Ali is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Ali content just to control the position here. Hunt working to try and regain half guard.

It looks like Gerlach Rutger has been cut. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rutger sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Rutger is in trouble now - Prien has advanced to mount! Rutger suckers Prien into throwing a sloppy strike and uses the momentum to reverse the position beautifully! Rutger is now in Prien's guard!

He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Prien seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Rutger has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Dane throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. The fighters circling - Dane throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Dane moves into range and connects with a jab. Dane throws a lazy right hand but Walker sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Dane throws a leg kick but Walker checks it. Walker keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Dane. Walker slips under a jab. Walker misses with the combination.

Doghoon comes rushing in but York regains his composure and manages to keep Doghoon in guard.
It looks like Karias York has been cut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Doghoon makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Doghoon trying to control but York is working from the bottom. York working a defensive guard here.

Montana shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. The Kid is trying to defend but Montana finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Montana thows a huge punch but The Kid dodges it nicely.

Augello has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Zimmerman misses with a takedown attempt - Augello sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Zimmerman stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Augello. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
James Augello dominated that round. The cut man is working on Levi Zimmerman's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Zimmerman shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Augello defends it nicely. Augello throws the left hand but Zimmerman avoids the punch easily. Levi Zimmerman is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Zimmerman misses with a head kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Augello throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Augello comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Augello catches Zimmerman with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Augello leaves Zimmerman with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Augello fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Zimmerman manages to avoid it. Augello throws a series of punches but Zimmerman avoids them all with ease. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Zimmerman.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Augello misses the shot to the body. James Augello seems to be getting the better of the standup. Zimmerman shoots for a takedown but Augello saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Levi Zimmerman. That's going to take a lot out of him. Zimmerman tries a head kick but it misses.
Horrible takedown by Zimmerman or perhaps it was just good defense by Augello which made him look bad. Augello lands a glancing blow to the side of Zimmerman's head.
Jeez, Levi Zimmerman's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
