The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cha shoots in but no luck this time.
Cha shoots in for a takedown but Perez shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Tae Sik Cha seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Perez drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Cha is looking for a sweep.
Perez has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Perez is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Cha is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Cha flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Perez anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Cha and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Perez slips an arm under Cha chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Perez has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Perez is squeezing on Cha like an anaconda would it's prey. Cha fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Kale Perez!
Kale Perez very nearly forgot to thank Hopkins Athletics amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.

I think Ridgway might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Psychosocial. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Gunner is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Gunner cracks Ridgway with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
