Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Victor Washington! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Varicella Zoster! The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.

Zoster stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Washington looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! A combination from Zoster does no damage. Washington throws the kick towards the body but Zoster avoids it. Zoster scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Zoster tries to land a front kick but Washington steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Zoster feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Washingtons jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Zoster lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Zoster. Zoster scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Washington seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Zoster shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Washington is backing up but Zoster catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Washington covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Zoster Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Varicella Zoster!

McCarthy sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. The fight stays on the outside here - Garcia looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Garcia tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but McCarthy swivels and escapes. Garcia takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
McCarthy pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Garcia closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into McCarthy's guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. McCarthy wants to stand but Garcia is controlling the position. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. McCarthy keeping moving, preventing Garcia from controlling successfully.

Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Garcia prevents McCarthy from getting back to his feet. Garcia postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Garcia is standing up over McCarthy. McCarthy looks to escape but Garcia dives into side control.
Garcia has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. McCarthy is trying to get back to his feet. McCarthy bucks up and tries to throw Garcia off but instead Garcia has got his back! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Garcia tries to keep control of the position but McCarthy is staying busy.

Garcia is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but McCarthy won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Garcia off his unconscious opponent!

Salonga fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Omori, pushing him back against the cage. Omori is pressed up against the cage. Salonga has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Omori down to the mat. Omori avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Salonga dives in and grabs Omori's left leg, looking for a takedown. Omori pushes down on Salonga's head and hops out. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Salonga. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Asiong Salonga. That's going to take a lot out of him. Salonga closes the distance and clinches up with Omori, looking for a takedown. Salonga pushes Omori against the cage but Omori circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Salonga tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Omori paws at him with a jab and circles away. Salonga works over Omori's head and body with a nice combination.
Omori is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Salonga's half guard. Salonga pushes Omori off looking to stand but Omori dives back in and keeps control.
Salonga tries to roll over but Omori keeps him under control.
Omori is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Salonga doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Omori. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Salonga is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Omori jumps into side control! Salonga is not content to let Omori control the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Salonga is being controlled here.

Omori tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Omori wants to control but Salonga is keeping him busy.
Omori is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Salonga knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Omori decides to take the fight back to the feet. A head kick misses from Omori. Salonga fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Omori shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Salonga sprawls well. Salonga wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Omori gets slowly back to his feet. Salonga lets loose with a powerful body kick. Omori will feel that in the morning.

and Salonga counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Omori! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Salonga is landing with some decent strikes but Omori is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Salonga looking to ground and pound but Omori is blocking nicely. Salonga lands a nice shot to the head. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Salonga can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Omori is looking to escape. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Asiong Salonga will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Omori doesn't manage to clinch there - Salonga circles away.

Salonga lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Salonga lands with a punch from half guard. Omori is refusing to be controlled, as Salonga sits in half guard. Salonga trying to control from Omori's half guard. Omori has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Omori working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Salonga doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Salonga manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Salonga throws a big elbow that misses.

Omori is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Salonga rolls with it to try and escape but Omori cranks on the arm and Salonga is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Szczerbiec works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Szczerbiec paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Szczerbiec throws the kick towards the body but Connor avoids it. Connor closes the distance and clinches up with Szczerbiec, looking for a takedown. Connor pushes Szczerbiec against the cage but Szczerbiec circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Connor closes the distance and clinches. Connor is trying to break the clinch but Szczerbiec is controlling him. Szczerbiec misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Connor.

Connor changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Szczerbiec fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Connor gets tackled into the cage by Szczerbiec. Szczerbiec maintains the clinch. Szczerbiec trying to land knees to the body.
Connor jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Szczerbiec walks away with a smile on his face. Connor gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Patryk Szczerbiec has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Connor. Szczerbiec keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
This has been an exciting period of action!

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Szczerbiec trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Szczerbiec throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Connor works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Szczerbiec throws a strike but Connor rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Connor sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Szczerbiec's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Connor decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Szczerbiec.
Nice uppercut there from Szczerbiec. Connor ducks right into an uppercut from Szczerbiec. Szczerbiec throws out a powerful jab. Szczerbiec wants to clinch.

Szczerbiec loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Connor bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Szczerbiec's guard. Connor sitting in guard here, content to control. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Szczerbiec wants to stand and escape but Connor is having none of it. Connor passes Szczerbiec's left leg - he's now in half guard. Szczerbiec is trying to escape back to his feet but Connor uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Connor connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Szczerbiec some visible discomfort.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Szczerbiec is trying to buck Connor off. Connor wants to lay and pray for a moment but Szczerbiec keeps working. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Patryk Szczerbiec dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
A chopping leg kick lands by Szczerbiec. Szczerbiec throws a sloppy head kick
and Connor moves into the clinch.
Connor manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Szczerbiec throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Szczerbiec throws an elbow that misses. Connor uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Szczerbiec's guard. Nice move by Connor! Connor trying to control the position from guard on top but Szczerbiec is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Szczerbiec throws his legs up looking for a submission but Connor uses it to pass to side control.
Szczerbiec is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Connor is looking to take a break and control but Szczerbiec is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Szczerbiec tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Connor wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Connor is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Connor gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Connor gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Connor apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Connor shoots in and drives through. Szczerbiec sprawls well. A head kick misses from Szczerbiec. Szczerbiec throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Connor on the wrong end of a nice jab. Szczerbiec throws a half hearted mid kick. Szczerbiec is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Nice sprawl there from Szczerbiec as Connor shoots in. Connor avoids the head kick by Szczerbiec.

Szczerbiec tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Connor paws at him with a jab and circles away. Connor moves forwards but Szczerbiec connects with a nice, crisp jab. John Connor is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Connor throws a right and a left that both miss. Connor tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Szczerbiec swivels and escapes. Patryk Szczerbiec has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Connor. Connor fails with a takedown attempt. Patryk Szczerbiec is winning the standup battle so far. Connor is breathing heavily. Szczerbiec lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Szczerbiec throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Szczerbiec cracks Connor with a right hand to the side of the head. Connor fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Connor takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Connor chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Szczerbiec can pounce on him.

Connor takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Szczerbiec moves out of range of the body kick from Connor.
Patryk Szczerbiec seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Szczerbiec thuds his right hand into Connor's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Szczerbiec stuffs the takedown. Connor changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Szczerbiec tries to avoid it but Connor manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Szczerbiec to the ground. Szczerbiec escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Connor fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Szczerbiec moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

Gregson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Stewart gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Stewart working some strikes from top position. Gregson lands with a heel strike from the guard.
Stewart stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gregson swivels though and keeps the full guard. Stewart passes easily into side control. Nice work. Stewart tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Stewart works to advance to full mount. Gregson defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Angero is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Nasri's half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Nasri controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.

Nasri gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Angero pushing down on Nasri's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Nasri holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Angero seems to be working for a kimura but Nasri defends the submission attempt. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nasri is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Angero's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Angero's back!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Angerois looking to pass into half guard but Nasri pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Nasri is in guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Angero had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Nasri defends it easily. Nasri is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Nasri trying to control the position from guard on top but Angero is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Nasri can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Angero is looking to escape. Angero tries to get back to half guard but can't. Angero is trying to reverse the position but instead Nasri has taken his back - oops!

Nasri is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Angero! Nasri content just to control the position here. Nasri's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Angero shoots in for a takedown but Nasri shows good takedown defense. Angero scores with a hook to the body. Nasri takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Angero tries for a takedown but Nasri sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Nasri gets cracked there but stands up to it.

and Nasri counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Alex Nasri has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steven Angero. Nasri looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Angero gets caught napping as Nasri dives in and scores a takedown. Angero manages to retain guard. Nasri slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Alex Nasri clearly takes that round. The cut man is working on Alex Nasri's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Nasri swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Angero tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Nasri manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Angero shoots in and bounces Nasri off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Angero wants to stand and escape but instead Nasri has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
