Mercuri circles away from the clinch attempt
and Mercuri counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Alekhine keeping full guard, as Mercuri tries to pass.
Mercuri postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Alekhine is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Mercuri drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Alekhine manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Mercuri has Alekhine in his guard.

Oh but Mercuri is tightening it up a little... Alekhine has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Alekhine reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Alekhine taps out! Nice BJJ there by Mercuri!
