4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alexander Alekhine! The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Vladimir Khabensky and Igor Prikhodko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mercuri circles away from the clinch attempt and Mercuri counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Alekhine keeping full guard, as Mercuri tries to pass. Mercuri postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Alekhine is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Mercuri drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Alekhine manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Mercuri has Alekhine in his guard. Mercuri working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Alekhine doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Mercuri is tightening it up a little... Alekhine has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Alekhine reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Alekhine taps out! Nice BJJ there by Mercuri!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Collin feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Dantes's calf. Some bone on bone action there as Dantes checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Dantes throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Collin defending well as Dantes loads up on a big left hand. Dantes misses with a wild combination.
Dantes takes a swing at Collin's ribcage but misses. Collin shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Collin showed some decent athleticism there. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Collin wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dantes keeps working. Dantes regains full guard. Nicely done. Dantes looking to hit a scissor sweep but Collin is one step ahead there. Dantes is adopting a defensive guard. Collin must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's one minute gone in the round. Collin works over Dantes with some ground and pound from guard. Collin throws an elbow that misses. Dantes uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Collin's guard. Nice move by Dantes! Collin wants to sweep but no luck. Dantes seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Dantes pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Collin is keeping the position for now. The ref stands the fighters back up because Edmund Dantes just wasn't active enough. Nice takedown defense from Collin. No joy for Dantes on that attempt. Collin throws a head kick that misses. Dantes ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Collin moves away. Dantes thuds his right hand into Collin's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Dantes shoots in for a takedown but Collin shows good takedown defense. Collin keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Collin changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Dantes looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Collin looking to control but instead Dantes has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard. Collin is nestled in close to Dantes, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Dantes is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Collin not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Collin seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Dantes does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Dantes is concentrating on defense, preventing Collin from advancing position. Dantes moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Collin with a flurry of punches that miss. Dantes keeping moving, preventing Collin from controlling successfully. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Collin looking to sit in guard and control but Dantes gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Collin trying to keep a closed guard but Dantes is proving a slippery customer.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Dantes lands a glancing blow to the side of Collin's head. Dantes avoids a kick to the body.

Dantes will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Dantes is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Dantes keeping moving, preventing Collin from controlling successfully. Dantes tries to land a sweep but no joy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Neeyo Collin will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's time! Dantes's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Collin walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Dantes misses with a body shot.

Collin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. A swing and a miss from Dantes. Collin displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Dantes. Dantes scores with a takedown into Collin's guard. Collin manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Collin cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Dantes is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Dantes is desperately trying to improve his position but Collin has a good base and remains in mount. Dantes is working hard here to advance position. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Collin with a couple of short strikes. Oh Dantes is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Ruggiero blocks a head kick by Pelli.
Ruggiero is looking to clinch. Pelli throws a low kick but Ruggiero avoids it. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Ruggiero takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Ruggiero tries to clinch but Pelli is having none of it. Pelli circles away from the clinch attempt.
Ruggiero doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nigobson looks to land a right hand but Strangle moved out of range. Strangle fails with the takedown and Nigobson counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Nigobson seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Nigobson is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Strangle avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Nigobson. Nigobson tries to pass the half guard into mount. Strangle knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Nigobson controlling the pace. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Nigobson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Strangle's head. Strangle wants to control but Nigobson is keeping busy and won't allow it. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Nigobson connects with a nice short shot to Strangle's temple. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Nigobson lands a nice short elbow. Nigobson not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Nigobson content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Nigobson is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nigobson is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Strangle! Strangle tries to hold on but Nigobson pushes him away. Nigobson punishing his opponent with strikes. Nigobson fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
