3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Smith! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Christopher Moltisanti! The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Patrick Alders and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Moltisanti finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Moltisanti avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Moltisanti shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Smith stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Moltisanti. Smith throws a right and a left that both miss. Moltisanti fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Smith fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Moltisanti lands with a slapping head kick. Moltisanti pushes Smith away with a front kick. A swing and a miss from Smith. Christopher Moltisanti seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Smith throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Moltisanti throws a hook to the side of Smith's head but Smith sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Smith pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Smith staying out of range there. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Moltisanti.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Smith walks into a straight right hand from Moltisanti. Moltisanti throws a leg kick which misses Smith's front leg but catches the back leg as Smith tries to avoid it. Moltisanti thuds his right hand into Smith's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Smith takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Moltisanti lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Smith shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Moltisanti uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Smith. Smith catches Moltisanti with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Smith lands a left and a right that send Moltisanti crashing to the mat, dazed. Smith thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Moltisanti tries a head kick but it misses.

Smith comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Moltisanti tries a head kick but it misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Moltisanti throws a front kick aimed at Smith's knee but Smith avoids it well. A solid body kick from Moltisanti. Moltisanti throws a quick inside leg kick. Smith throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Moltisanti sees it coming and avoids it easily. A punch lands to the side of Moltisanti 's head but he takes it in his stride. Smith looks to throw the jab but Moltisanti is out of range. Smith on the wrong end of a nice jab. Moltisanti tries a head kick but it misses.
Moltisanti throws out a loose jab but Smith uses good head movement to avoid it. A punch combination from Smith misses. Smith throws a big shot that misses. Smith misses with a few strikes there.

Moltisanti lands a nice looking body kick. Smith stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Moltisanti. Smith misses with a straight right. Moltisanti jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Smith displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Moltisanti throws out the jab.

Moltisanti fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Smith. Moltisanti throws a sloppy head kick and Smith moves out of range easily. A jab from Moltisanti misses. Smith cracks Moltisanti with an open hand slap. Smith lets his hands go wild with a nice combination. Left! Right! Uppercut! Spinning backfist! Moltisanti goes down and covers up as Smith starts wailing on him! The ref watches the action closely before stepping in and putting a stop to the fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Left hook, right uppercut from De Lima. De Lima misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Pulver throws a nice looking combination but De Lima bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Pulver forces De Lima back against the ropes and clinches. Pulver is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. De Lima is defending well for now. Pulver is trying to stall.
Pulver makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Pulver breaks from the clinch.

Da Souza has his foot on Feliciano's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Feliciano works his way back into a safe position though. Da Souza working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Feliciano doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Feliciano manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Da Souza working for a triangle but Feliciano defends it easily.

Feliciano is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Da Souza. Da Souza is looking to regain half guard here but Feliciano keeps moving and retains side control. Da Souza manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Feliciano is not content to let Da Souza control the position. Feliciano really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Da Souza. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Da Souza is looking for a kimura but Feliciano is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Da Souza to get the leverage. Feliciano pushes Da Souza off but Da Souza dives into side control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Feliciano can do anything to dispel that myth. Feliciano tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops. Da Souza trying to control momentarily.

and Gracie counters with a two punch combo. Sakalas should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Gracie circles away from the clinch attempt.
Gracie shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Sakalas sprawls well. Sakalas wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gracie gets slowly back to his feet. Sakalas fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Gracie looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Sakalas is fending him off so far but Gracie persists. Nope, Sakalas circles away and we're back to standing. Sakalas closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Gracie quickly recovers to half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Sakalas not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. We're going to have a standup here because Matt Gracie wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Gracie takes the fight into the clinch. Sakalas is working for takedown but Gracie is calmly controlling the position for now. Sakalas tries to score a body lock takedown but Gracie shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Gracie pushes down on Sakalas's head and hops out. Sakalas fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Jonas Sakalas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sakalas throws a right and a left that Gracie avoids nicely. Gracie shoots for a takedown but Sakalas saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Sakalas buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Gracie moves into range and clinches up with Sakalas. Gracie lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Sakalas backwards. Sakalas goes for a takedown attempt but Gracie pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Sakalas defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Gracie. Sakalas misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Gracie gets the takedown into side control. Sakalas takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Gracie wants to control for a moment but Sakalas uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Gracie trying to control from half guard but Sakalas is working away. Gracie is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Sakalas sees it coming and defends easily. Gracie working over Sakalas with some ground and pound. Sakalas looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Gracie wants to control but Sakalas is keeping him busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gracie is working for a submission of some sort.

Sakalas changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Gracie looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Sakalas sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Gracie is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Sakalas goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Gracie has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Sakalas but great work by Gracie. Gracie in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Sakalas is tapping! That's the end of the fight!

Marens throws a right hand that Spar ducks under and follows up with a left that Spar also avoids with ease. Spar stuffs the takedown. Marens lands a jab to Spar's midsection. Spar drives through with a takedown into Marens's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Spar stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Marens swivels though and keeps the full guard. Spar advances position into side control! Spar tries to move into full mount but can't pass Marens's legs. Marens really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Spar. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Marens is not content to let Spar control the position. Spar working away. Spar in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Marens is tapping!
