6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jimbo Slice! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lance Armstrong! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Jorge Garcia and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Armstrong looks to land a combination but Slice avoids it well. Armstrong fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Armstrong closes this distance looking for a takedown but Slice circles away. Armstrong fails to land the takedown. Jimbo Slice has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lance Armstrong. Armstrong sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Slice is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Armstrong gets the takedown into side control. Armstrong looks gassed! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Slice sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Slice wants to get back to his feet.

Slice is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Armstrong looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Slice seems to be working for a kimura but Armstrong defends the submission attempt. Armstrong has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Slice is working away from the top position though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Slice looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Armstrong is trying to control but can't.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Armstrong takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Slice gets in close and instigates a clinch. Slice wants the takedown. Armstrong is fighting it off but Slice persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Armstrong's guard against the cage. Slice wants to control from the top but Armstrong keeps moving. Slice drops back looking for a leg! Armstrong is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Armstrong manages to kick Slice off! Slice jumps back into Armstrong's guard. Armstrong had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Slice defends it easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jimbo Slice dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Slice darts in and clinches Armstrong up against the cage. Armstrong working hard to break the clinch. Still in the clinch, Slice scores with a nice short uppercut. Armstrong wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Slice has him pressed against the cage. Slice lands with a short head shot on the inside. Armstrong tries to break the clinch but Slice is controlling the position. Slice misses with a hook from the clinch. Armstrong missing with knees to the body.
Slice lands an uppercut. A short right from Slice. Slice comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Slice lands a nice elbow. Slice lands a nice uppercut. Armstrong stops a takedown attempt from Slice.
Slice blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Armstrong misses with a short punch on the inside. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Slice presses Armstrong against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Slice lands a hook that snaps the head of Armstrong backwards. Slice lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Slice makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Slice lands an uppercut. Slice lands an elbow inside that Armstrong shrugs off. Slice slowing the pace effectively.
That's one minute gone in the round. Slice has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Armstrong uses from the top position. Slice had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Armstrong defends it easily. Armstrong stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Slice swivels though and keeps the full guard. Slice has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Armstrong can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Slice working a defensive guard here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Slice wants to sweep here but Armstrong controlling him for the moment. Armstrong pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Slice is keeping the position for now. Slice has Armstrong pulled in close to control his posture. Slice wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Armstrong is now in half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Slice is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Slice looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

He's being very persistent here but Slice manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! Jimbo Slice is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Slice cracks Armstrong with a solid left hand. Armstrong throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Armstrong is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Slice controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Slice's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Armstrong looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A combination from Agopyan does no damage. Agopyan lands a really nice looking cross but Johnson seems unphased.
Agopyan stalks Johnson and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Johnson's face. Johnson staggers backwards, shaken. Johnson defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Agopyan. Johnson looks to throw the jab but Agopyan is out of range. Ashot Agopyan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Agopyan throws a right and a left that both miss. Agopyan throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Agopyan is trying to get back to his feet but Johnson has full control of the position and if anything, Agopyan has just worked his way into a worse spot. You can see the frustration on Agopyan's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Ted Johnson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Johnson was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Agopyan lands a really nice looking cross but Johnson seems unphased.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wright slaps away a takedown attempt from Gracie, before circling back to the center of the mat. Good shot there by Wright. Wright circles away from the clinch attempt.
Wright drops his shoulder and cracks Gracie with a huge uppercut! Gracie goes down! Can Wright finish him?

It looks like Royce Gracie has been cut. Wright must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Gracie keeping moving, preventing Wright from controlling successfully. Oh Gracie is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Wright goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Gracie needs to keep his hands up - Wright had a free shot at his head there. Gracie takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Adron Wright seems to be getting the better of the standup. Gracie walks straight into a jab right on the nose. I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

I think Gonzales might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Gladiator Suite - Zimmer. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Klinger throws a right and a left that both miss. King James seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Klinger stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Klinger wants it to stay on the feet. James fails with a takedown attempt. Klinger scores with a leg kick.

That was a close fourth round but I would say that Phil The Phantom will probably get the nod. That's time! The Phantom's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

That's going to take a lot out of him. Qura works over The Phantom's head and body with a nice combination. The Phantom takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

The Phantom smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt. The Phantom shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Qura counters with a big head kick but The Phantom shrugs it off.

Qura darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Excellent takedown into side control there by The Phantom. Sloppy strikes there by The Phantom. Qura is pushing The Phantom's head away, looking to escape. The Phantom manages to hold on to the position though. The Phantom landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. The Phantom tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. The Phantom wants to control but Qura is keeping him busy.

Qura defends well against a solid takedown attempt from The Phantom. The Phantom shoots in for a takedown but Qura shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. The Phantom misses with a takedown attempt and Qura makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. The fight moves into the clinch position. Qura is looking to break free of the clinch but The Phantom has double underhooks. Qura breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

The Phantom takes a kick to the side of the head. The Phantom looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Qura connects with a high kick. The Phantom gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Qura counters with a leg kick. Qura lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

The Phantom shoots in and drives through. Qura sprawls well. Qura lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. The Phantom with a lazy takedown attempt and Qura counters with a head kick. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Some wild striking there from Qura.

It looks like Andre Toulon has been cut. Toulon walks straight into a right hand from Avalon - that's dropped him! Avalon jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Toulon from any more punishment! Toulon complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
