1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alex Rosenberg! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Winston Howard and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Johnson lands a few punches from side control. Johnson wants to control but Rosenberg is keeping him busy. Johnson content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Rosenberg parries the strikes from Johnson easily there. Johnson is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Rosenberg to escape.
Johnson fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Rosenberg tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. Johnson fails to advance to Rosenberg's back. Johnson has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Rosenberg's face.
Rosenberg really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Johnson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Rosenberg wants to control but Johnson is having none of it. Johnson with good strikes from the mount here!
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson raining down shots from the mount! Johnson has hold of Rosenberg's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Rosenberg manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Rosenberg is rocked! Rosenberg looks gassed! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Johnson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Rosenberg is still in real trouble! Can Johnson finish him? Johnson loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Rosenberg scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Johnson land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Johnson stands and salutes the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mark Johnson! A relieved looking Mark Johnson thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Van Damm tries to close the distance and clinch but Nikoteen swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Marcellous Nikoteen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nikoteen avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Nikoteen drops Van Damm with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Van Damm looks back up at him and smiles so Nikoteen waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
It looks like Jean Claude Van Damm has been cut. This has been an exciting period of action! Nikoteen throws a nice looking combination but Van Damm bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Nikoteen takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ramos feints and as Yang raises his hands in defense, Ramos changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Yang throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Yang has his foot on Ramos's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ramos works his way back into a safe position though. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Yang is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ramos trying to control but Yang is working from the bottom. Yang escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ramos gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Yang is trying to control the position but Ramos postures up. Yang has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Ramos should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Yang has tightened it up now! Ramos should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Brian's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Brian was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.

Gunn got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kahoohalphala has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gunn has managed to get both his arms back between Kahoohalphala's legs - danger averted. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kahoohalphala wants to sweep but no luck. Kahoohalphala lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Gunn!
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Gunn tries to hold on but Kahoohalphala pushes him away. Kahoohalphala raining down hammerfists from mount. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Kahoohalphala cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Kahoohalphala pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Kahoohalphala lands with some strikes. Kahoohalphala throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Gunn is in a horrible position here. Kahoohalphala smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

so Scully counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Scully is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Scully preventing the sweep. Scully has gone for a leg lock! Chaowanungkarn slips out almost immediately though and dives into Scully's guard. Chaowanungkarn is looking to work some ground and pound but Scully has wrist control. Scully trying to control the position.

Scully throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Chaowanungkarn works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Scully passes Chaowanungkarn's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Scully wants to take a breather but Chaowanungkarn is having none of it. Scully seems to be working for a kimura but Chaowanungkarn defends the submission attempt. Chaowanungkarn won't allow Scully to pass to mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Scully is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Chaowanungkarn sees it coming and defends easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Scully throwing shots but Chaowanungkarn is blocking nicely. Chaowanungkarn trying to control but Scully postures up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Woo avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Woo keeping moving, preventing Briggs from controlling successfully. Briggs won't allow Woo to sweep him here. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Woo is on top in guard.

Woo has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Briggs utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Woo controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Woo throwing strikes but missing. Woo wants to control from the top but Briggs keeps moving. Woo scoring with some ground and pound. Woo forces his way into half guard. Woo is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Briggs as he works his way to full guard.

Briggs shoots for a takedown but Woo saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Woo gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Briggs to score an easy takedown into full guard. Briggs is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Woo. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Briggs landing strikes. Briggs cracks Woo with a big right hand but Woo just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Woo wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Woo gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Briggs. Briggs tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Briggs works the jab nicely. A looping hook to the body misses from Woo. Briggs does a little dance to reset his feet. Briggs throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
