Matah shoots in for a double leg but Cronkite sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCrae throws a hook but Rojas avoids it easily.
Rojas keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
McCrae misses with a hook
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Good standup being displayed there by Rojas as he connects with a hook.
McCrae with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Rojas to score with a decent uppercut.
A telegraphed right hand from McCrae misses the target.
Rojas stuns McCrae with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Arturo Rojas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McCrae throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Rojas stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
McCrae fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

and Rojas counters with a series of strikes. McCrae will be more careful next time no doubt.
McCrae takes a head kick and keeps coming.

McCrae walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Rojas lands with a cross.
McCrae ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rojas moves away.
McCrae shoots in but Rojas avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ellic McCrae. That's going to take a lot out of him.
McCrae has his takedown stuffed
and Rojas counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Rojas cracks McCrae with a right hand to the side of the head.
Rojas fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt McCrae.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for McCrae. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
McCrae on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Arturo Rojas is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Rojas throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Rojas lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Rojas displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from McCrae.

McCrae is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

Rojas cracks McCrae with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Rojas has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning McCrae to stand back up!

McCrae is rocked!
Rojas looks for a left high kick but can't connect. Rojas backs up to catch a breather... no he lunges forward with a huge flying knee that smacks McCrae's temple! It sends McCrae violently to the canvas! The crowd goes nuts as Rojas celebrates and the doctors try to help McCrae!
