The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Salmon closes the distance but Pol moves to the side
and Pol counters with a straight right hand.
Pol swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Pol misses with a head kick.
Pol throws a head kick but Salmon moves out of range.
Salmon stuns Pol with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Salmon tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Pol paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Salmon has managed to clinch.
Salmon really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Pol fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Salmon is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Pol to keep the fight standing.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pol can do anything to dispel that myth.

Salmon drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Salmon jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Pink Salmon.
