The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ho steps to the side to avoid the strikes from McNamara. McNamara rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Ho counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. McNamara misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Ho counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Ho dodges the punch combination from McNamara.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to John McNamara. Well McNamara has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Mammoth misses with a looping left. Maipen scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Mammoth doesn't seem bothered though. Maipen throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Mammoth ducks under a wild hook from Maipen. Mammoth throws a low kick but it's checked well by Maipen. Mammoth is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Maipen thows a left - swing and a miss! Maipen ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Mammoth moves away. Mammoth has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Mammoth there as he acknowledges the shot. Mop Maipen has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Maipen throws a lazy right hand but Mammoth sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. The Mammoth is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Mammoth throws a solid leg kick but Maipen takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Mammoth. Maipen fails with an attempt to clinch.
Maipen moves out of range of the leg kick from Mammoth. Some bone on bone action there as Maipen checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. The crowd cheers as Maipen lands an impressive looking overhand right. Mammoth doesn't seem phased though. Maipen fakes the body blow, causing Mammoth to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Mammoth goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!
