The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Magalhaes fails with a takedown attempt.

Jones tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Magalhaes wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Jones is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the ropes but Magalhaes has just dragged him back down to the mat.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Jones is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Paul Jones will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Magalhaes looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Magalhaes throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jones's waist but Jones gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Magalhaes off to one side.

Magalhaes throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Magalhaes closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jones circles away.

Magalhaes avoids the body shot from Jones.
Magalhaes tries a low kick but Jones avoids it.
Jones gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Jones breaks from Magalhaes's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Magalhaes is in a horrible position here. Jones smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Magalhaes is bucking up trying to escape but Jones cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Magalhaes is desperately trying to improve his position but Jones has a good base and remains in mount.

Magalhaes takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Jones softens up his opponent with a couple of shots there and then CRACK! One massive shot lands there and Magalhaes is out cold! Jones jumps to his feet and celebrates on the ropes with the fans, who are, quite frankly, going absolutely mental!
