Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Michael Phelps! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Marcus Shin! The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Illya Tyunina and Valeri Chadov.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Phelps fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Shin manages to avoid it. Phelps looks to land a combination but Shin avoids it well. Shin shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Phelps as he jumps to the side. Shin takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Marcus Shin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Shin misses with the combination.
Shin is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Phelps's half guard. Shin wants to control but Phelps is keeping him busy. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Phelps looks like he's trying to stand up.
Phelps is looking to get back to is feet but Shin passes into side control.
Phelps wants to get back to his feet. Sloppy strikes there by Shin. Phelps is trying to buck Shin off. Shin lands a few punches from side control. Phelps pushes Shin away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Shin gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Shin working the ground and pound from side control. Shin prevents Phelps from escaping the position. Shin has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Shin scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Phelps to see if he's OK. Phelps is not content to let Shin control the position.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Phelps regains half guard, as Shin was trying to land strikes. Phelps pushes Shin off looking to stand but Shin dives back in and keeps control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ground and pound from Shin. Shin is nestled in close to Phelps, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Shin thows a huge punch but Phelps dodges it nicely.
Shin is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Nice strikes from Shin there. Phelps is breathing heavily. Shin lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Shin stops Phelps from getting back to his feet.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Shin winds up and cracks Phelps with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
 Phelps is rocked! Shin landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Oh Phelps is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Shin is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Shin is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Phelps wants to get back to his feet.
Shin lands strikes from half guard. Shin controlling the pace. Phelps taking some punishment here, with Shin in his half guard. Ground and pound from Shin. Shin lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Phelps! More strikes land and this one is all over! Shin jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Stark shoots in looking for a takedown. Silva tries to sprawl out of it but Stark keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Silva manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Stark shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Silva defends it nicely.
Stark gets tackled into the cage by Silva. Silva maintains the clinch. Stark takes an elbow to the temple. Stark goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Stark looking to slow down the pace here.
Silva pulls guard effortlessly. Silva is looking to sweep but instead, Stark has passed into half guard.
Stark thows a huge punch but Silva dodges it nicely.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Earth Jr avoids the head kick by Kross.
Kross fails with the takedown. Earth Jr misses the shot to the body.
Kross has Earth Jr up against the cage in a clinch.
Earth Jr could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Kross manages to pull guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Earth Jr wants to control from the top but Kross keeps moving. Earth Jr working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kross can do anything to dispel that myth. Earth Jr trying to control the position from guard on top but Kross is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Earth Jr stays in close to Kross's body and controls the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Earth Jr accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Kross is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Earth Jr defends well. Earth Jr stops Kross from standing up. Kross keeping moving, preventing Earth Jr from controlling successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Earth Jr thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Kross has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Earth Jr has passed into side control.

Earth Jr stands and throws Kross's legs to the side, diving into side control. Kross is trying to get back to half guard. Earth Jr working away.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Silva shoots in for a takedown but Elovaara shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Elovaara lands a right hook to the body.

Silva shoots in for a takedown but Elovaara shows good takedown defense. Elovaara cracks Silva with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Elovaara is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Elovaara slaps away a takedown attempt from Silva, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Silva shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
