4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Brice Bailey! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Albert Guansing! The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Jeff Smith and Paul Gruel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Guansing stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Guansing wants it to stay on the feet. Bailey blocks a jab. Bailey shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Guansing's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bailey cracks Guansing with a solid left hand. Bailey is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Bailey scoring with some ground and pound. Bailey controlling from the top position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bailey postures up and lands a big shot to Guansing's brow. Bailey controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Bailey is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Bailey sitting in guard here, content to control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Guansing is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Bailey is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Guansing utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Bailey controlling from the top position.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Brice Bailey wasn't doing enough on the ground. Guansing looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Bailey fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Bailey. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brice Bailey. That's going to take a lot out of him. Guansing cracks the inside of Bailey's front leg. Bailey looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Bailey is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Guansing is just riding it out for now. Bailey eventually gives up the hold. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Bailey is taking a breather. Guansing says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bailey is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Guansing is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vasil throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Cray Vasil seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Dael closes the distance and clinches. Vasil is looking to take this one to the mat. Dael tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Vasil smiles and moves away.
Dael closes the distance but Vasil moves to the side and Vasil counters with an outside leg kick.
Dael stuffs the takedown. Nice takedown defense from Vasil. No joy for Dael on that attempt. Vasil misses with a head kick.
Danga de danga de dang - Vasil scores with a four punch combination! Dael takes a shot right to the bread basket. Dael has a takedown stuffed. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Faustine Rod Dael. That's going to take a lot out of him. Dael showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Vasil.
Vasil jabs Dael to the body, keeping him at a distance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dael fails in his attempt to clinch. Vasil shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Dael defends it nicely. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Dael is defended easily by Vasil. Vasil shoots in but no luck this time. Vasil displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Dael. Vasil goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vasil ducks under a wild hook from Dael. Dael changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Vasil looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Dael has knee on belly and moves into mount. Dael seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Vasil is holding on tight.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Dael looking to control and managing it successfully. Dael with the ground and pound from mount. Dael avoids the attempt from Vasil to control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dael can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Vasil is looking to escape. Vasil tries to improve his position but instead Dael has taken his back! Dael is working the back position looking for the choke. Oh, he's slid into an armbar! Beautiful transition and Vasil taps out! Fantastic Jiu Jitsu from Dael.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lanastar connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Embo's hands. Lanastar missing with a left hand there. Embo was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Embo tries to clinch up but Lanastar circles away and keeps his distance. Nice sprawl there from Lanastar as Embo shoots in. Embo changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lanastar tries to avoid it but Embo manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lanastar to the ground. Lanastar escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Embo closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Lanastar quickly recovers to half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Embo is looking for a kimura but Lanastar is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Embo to get the leverage. Embo controlling the pace. Lanastar is holding on to half guard well. Embo prevents Lanastar from improving his position. Lanastar trying to hold on to Embo's head to control him but Embo postures up.
Embo is looking to take a break and control but Lanastar is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. This has been an exciting period of action! Lanastar wants to improve his position but Embo is controlling well.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Nice uppercut lands for Embo. That snapped Lanastar's head back.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lanastar throws out a loose jab but Embo uses good head movement to avoid it. Embo slips under a jab. Embo is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Lanastar throws a body punch but Embo moves out of range. Lanastar throws a right hand that misses
and Embo counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Embo. Embo trying to control the position from guard on top but Lanastar is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Embo stays in close to Lanastar's body and controls the position. Embo has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Lanastar really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Embo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
We're going to have a standup here because Kev Embo wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Lanastar jabbing away but nothing is landing. Embo looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lanastar is fending him off so far but Embo persists. Nope, Lanastar circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kev Embo. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Embo moves forwards but Lanastar connects with a nice, crisp jab. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Embo fails to land the takedown. Embo fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Lanastar closes the distance and pushes Embo back into the cage. Lanastar lands a shot to the body. Embo is trying to pull guard but Lanastar has him pressed against the cage. Lanastar escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Jamie Lanastar is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Embo misses with an uppercut. Lanastar moves away from the strike by Embo. Embo fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Lanastar avoids it really well and circles away. Embo avoids the body shot from Lanastar.

That's three minutes gone in the round. No luck for Embo with that takedown attempt. Embo fails with the takedown. Embo is breathing heavily. Nice cross by Lanastar. Embo tries to clinch up. Embo fails with the takedown. Lanastar gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Lanastar breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A swing and a miss from Lanastar. Embo fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Embo is trying hard to land a takedown here. Lanastar sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Lanastar lands a right hand that snaps the head of Embo backwards. Lanastar escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Nice uppercut there from Lanastar. Embo walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Embo looking to score a takedown here. Lanastar is defending well but Embo drives through and ends up in Lanastar's guard. Lanastar wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lanastar trying to keep a closed guard but Embo is proving a slippery customer.
Lanastar looking for a sweep. Not yet Lanastar, not yet. Embo is fighting to break Lanastar's control of his arms but Lanastar is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Jamie Lanastar. Embo shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Lanastar but Lanastar pushes him off and we're back to square one. Lanastar misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Jamie Lanastar dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
No luck for Embo with that takedown attempt. Embo dives in and grabs Lanastar's left leg, looking for a takedown. Lanastar pushes down on Embo's head and hops out. Lanastar might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Embo bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Embo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lanastar keeps working. Lanastar can't do much from the bottom here. Embo is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Lanastar is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Lanastar is not content to let Embo control the position. Embo is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Lanastar is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lanastar is looking to reverse the position. Lanastar wants to control but Embo postures up. Embo wants to control but Lanastar is keeping him busy. Embo has hold of Lanastar's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Lanastar seems comfortable defending it but Embo has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Lanastar is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Lanastar is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Embo couldn't care less - he's delighted!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fisher looks to score with a jab to the body but Hammer is just out of range. Hammer keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Hammer ducks right into an uppercut from Fisher. Hammer doesn't succeed with the takedown and Fisher counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Hammer fails with an attempt to clinch.
Hammer closes the distance and clinches up with Fisher, looking for a takedown. Hammer pushes Fisher against the cage but Fisher circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Fisher lands with a good body shot. Hammer tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Fisher manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Hammer manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Hammer is breathing heavily. Fisher trying to control the position from guard on top but Hammer is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Fisher passes Hammer's right leg, so he's now in half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Fisher is keen to just control but Hammer is a slippery customer. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

The fight stays on the outside here - Stokeworth looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Stokeworth moves in looking to clinch but Bam pushes him off. Bam is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Stokeworth tries to work over Bam's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Bam prevents Stokeworth from breaking the clinch. Bam wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Stokeworth tries to clinch up.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Askren shoots in looking for a takedown. Jackson tries to sprawl out of it but Askren keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jackson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Jackson fails with an attempt to clinch.
Askren tries to clinch and Jackson counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Askren closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Jackson did well to prevent Askren getting side control. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Askren stops Jackson from getting back to his feet.

Askren is trying to control the action in half guard but Jackson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Nice strikes from Askren there. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Jackson has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Jackson and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Askren fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. A chopping leg kick lands by Jackson. Jackson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Askren drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Askren works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jackson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Askren manages to get himself to full guard.

Askren is breathing heavily. Jackson scores with a jab to the body. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Jackson lands a big head kick that sends Askren tumbling to the mat! Jackson takes a step backwards and waves Askren back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Ben Askren has been cut. Lyoto Jackson is winning the standup battle so far. Askren stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Jackson. Askren is still on wobbly legs! Can Jackson finish him? Jackson lands with a good body shot. Askren takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Jackson fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Askren has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Look low, kick high! Jackson uses the oldest trick in the book to send Askren tumbling to the canvas, in a truly brutal knockout! Jackson is absolutely delighted - when Askren wakes up, I doubt he'll be quite so happy!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alliteration tries to bum rush Wuopio with a series of wild strikes but Wuopio uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Wuopio lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
It looks like Andy Alliteration has been cut. Wuopio throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Alliteration. Wuopio lands a nice looking body shot.
Alliteration closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Wuopio did well to prevent Alliteration getting side control. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Wuopio has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Alliteration. Oh but Wuopio has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Alliteration goes limp - he's gone! Wuopio jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
