Mortensson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mortensson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Mortensson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Flashlighter swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Flashlighter holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Flashlighter swings wildly with an uppercut but Mortensson uses good head movement to avoid it.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Flashlighter creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Mortensson turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Mortensson manages to end up in side control.

Mortensson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Flashlighter has escaped the position, nice work there.
Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.
Mortensson is looking to take a break and control but Flashlighter is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Mortensson remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Aalio Paalio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joachim Peiper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paalio's entrance music is Motörhead - Iron Fist. A fine choice. Peiper has chosen SS marschiert in Feindesland as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!
