The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lima shoots in and drives through. OQuinn sprawls well. Lima with a poor takedown and OQuinn decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Lima's guard.
Lima is rocked! OQuinn seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Lima is still in real trouble! Can OQuinn finish him? OQuinn wants to pass the guard but Lima is keeping the position. OQuinn has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Lima had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. OQuinn defends it easily. Lima being controlled here, momentarily. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
We're going to have a standup here because Damien OQuinn wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Lima with a lazy takedown attempt and OQuinn goes for a counter takedown and lands it with interest - it's knocked his opponent senseless! It looks like OQuinn 's shoulder did the damage as the two fighters hit the mat.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Love throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Livingchin was covering up waiting for the punch and Love finishes the takedown easily into guard. Love is stalling in the full guard. Love tries to free his leg and advance position but Livingchin is retaining full guard. Love stops Livingchin from standing up. Love in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Love stays in close to Livingchin's body and controls the position. Love drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Love jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Love sitting in guard here, content to control. Livingchin wants to stand up but Love is controlling him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Love seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Peace Love just wasn't active enough. Love will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Love fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Livingchin manages to avoid it. Livingchin uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Love.

Love is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Love prevents Livingchin from getting back to his feet.

It's a bit of a token attempt though and Livingchin regains control of the situation pretty easily.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Menezes wants to clinch and Allan counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Allan keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Allan seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Menezes for as long as he can get away with. Allan trying to mount his opponent but Menezes defends it. Allan stalling.
Paul Allan has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Menezes tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Allan paws at him with a jab and circles away. Allan has closed the distance and engaged Menezes in a clinch.

He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Allan works his way back into a safe position though. Menezes is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Allan defends well. Menezes is working an open guard so Allan takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Menezes tries to clinch but Allan is having none of it. Allan swats away the attempt to clinch by Menezes. Allan manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Menezes on his heels. He'll look to pass Menezes's guard now, I'm sure. Allan is breathing heavily. Allan trying to control but Menezes is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Menezes is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Allan is controlling him. Menezes wants to sweep here but Allan controlling him for the moment. Menezes is looking for a triangle but Allan pushes his legs off easily.
Allan stops Menezes from standing up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Allan got a little sloppy there for a moment and Menezes has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Allan has managed to get both his arms back between Menezes's legs - danger averted. Allan avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Menezes is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Allan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Menezes swivels though and keeps the full guard. Allan trying to control the position from guard on top but Menezes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Menezes looking to sweep here. No luck so far. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Menezes is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Din Menezes will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Menezes doesn't succeed with the takedown and Allan counters with a nice double leg into guard. Menezes is looking to stand up but Allan isn't so interested in that idea. Allan slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Allan knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Menezes on the ground.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Menezes has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Allan is working away from the top position though. Menezes taking some punishment here, with Allan in his half guard. Allan performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Menezes is trying to escape back to his feet but Allan uses the scramble to pass into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Menezes pushes Allan away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Allan gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Menezes is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Allan off and has taken his back! Menezes has his arm under Allan's chin here. Game over son! Menezes squeezes tightly and Allan is forced to tap out!
