Wash turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Wash manages to end up in side control.

Wash is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Caliot knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Caliot is pushing Wash's head away, looking to escape. Wash manages to hold on to the position though.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Owen Wash wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Wash closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Caliot's guard.
Caliot takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Wash controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Wash with a nice head shot there.
Caliot really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wash. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Wash passes Caliot's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Wash is taking a breather. Caliot says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Caliot wants to stand back up but Wash manages to pass into side control.
Owen Wash is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shirou Masuda and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Glover . No joy for Gnida on that attempt.
Gnida throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Glover 's waist but Glover gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gnida off to one side.
Glover throws a series of punches but Gnida avoids them all with ease.
Glover stuffs the takedown attempt from Gnida. Gnida gets slowly back to his feet.
Larry Glover has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Klej Gnida.
Gnida gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Gnida takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Glover lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Glover looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Gnida misses with a series of wild punches.
Gnida shoots in but no luck this time.
Larry Glover seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Glover lands a two punch combo.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Gnida avoids a punch combination nicely.

Glover lands with a nice body punch.
Glover uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Glover moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Gnida is rocked!
Glover lands the left hand.
Gnida is still on wobbly legs! Can Glover finish him?
Glover darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Glover cracks Gnida on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Gnida falls backwards against the cage. Glover follows up with more strikes that drop Gnida to his knees. Glover keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Gnida! This one is all over!

Larry Glover spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
