The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garcius misses with a takedown attempt - Pierre sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Garcius shoots in for a takedown but Pierre shows good takedown defense.
Pierre changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Garcius tries to avoid it but Pierre manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Garcius to the ground. Garcius escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Garcius looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Nick Pierre has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jaius Garcius.

Pierre is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Garcius is just riding it out for now. Pierre eventually gives up the hold.
