Raimundo Oliveira told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Darnell changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Oliveira tries to avoid it but Darnell manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Oliveira to the ground. Oliveira escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Darnell shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sakuraba lands a jab to the nose.
Sakuraba jabs at Gomez's body.
Gomez tries for a takedown but Sakuraba sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Gomez fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Sakuraba stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Gomez takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Gomez walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Gomez shoots in looking for a takedown. Sakuraba tries to sprawl out of it but Gomez keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Sakuraba manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Kazushi Sakuraba has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joey Gomez.

A very excited looking Kazushi Sakuraba rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
