Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Niko Belich! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Attonitto Silva! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Mauricio Rocha and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Belich throws a good cross that connects.
Belich throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Belich lands a jab to the head.
Silva showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Belich.
Silva ducks right into an uppercut from Belich. Belich jabs at Silva's body. Belich digs a good hook to Silva's body.
Belich cracks Silva with a good jab. Nice body punch from Belich. Belich scores with a jab. Silva acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Danga de danga de dang - Belich scores with a four punch combination! Silva takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Belich lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Silva backs up against the cage.
Belich scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Belich cracks Silva with a right hand to the side of the head. Silva misses with a takedown attempt - Belich sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Belich throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Silva shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Belich napping and manages to drive through into side control! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Belich is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Silva asserts his dominance and retains side control. Belich is looking to get back to his feet here but Silva is keeping cool and he's managed to take Belich's back. I really don't envy Belich right now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Belich is trying to defend against the choke here but Silva has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Silva Tightens the hold and Belich taps out furiously! Silva displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
