6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Bayden Wood! The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Fedor Mirinova and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Spanner throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Wood counters with a left and a right that stings Spanner. Wood misses with a few strikes there.
Wood goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Spanner throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Spanner wants to clinch but Wood slips to the side and Wood counters with an inside leg kick. Spanner tries to clinch but Wood moves away and Wood counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Wood throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Spanner on the side of the head. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Spanner lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Spanner tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Wood manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Spanner tries to clinch there but Wood circles away.

Wood keeps the fight on the outside. Spanner shoots for a double leg takedown but Wood sprawls well. He's pushed Spanner's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Spanner tries to clinch but fails miserably and Wood counters with a stiff right hand. Wood looks to land a combination but Spanner avoids it well. A combination from Wood does no damage.

Wood pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Spanner back to the cage. Wood follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Spanner stalks Wood and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Wood's face. Wood staggers backwards, shaken. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Jab, jab by Wood - just one landing. Wood fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Wood tries to bum rush Spanner with a series of wild strikes but Spanner uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Spanner misses with a left hand and Wood counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wood misses with a hook. Wood is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Spanner had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Spanner ducks under a wild hook from Wood. Some wild striking there from Spanner.
Spanner takes the fight into the clinch. Wood is trying to break the clinch but Spanner is controlling him. Wood goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Spanner tries to throw a body punch but Wood avoids it by throwing Spanner back against the cage. Spanner pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Wood blocks an elbow strike. Wood tries to circle away but Spanner has him pinned against the cage. Spanner lands with a short punch from the clinch.

He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Wood is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. With the fighters up against the cage, Spanner throws an elbow but misses. Nice elbow from Spanner. Spanner is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Wood gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Wood avoiding damage as Spanner throws knees to the body.
Wood is pushing Spanner up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Spanner lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Wood backwards. A left hand lands to the body for Wood.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Wood changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Spanner drops his hands momentarily and Wood takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Spanner rushes Wood and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Spanner tries to pull guard but Wood holds him up against the cage and eventually Spanner drops back down to his feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Young scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Young connects with an inside leg kick. Punch on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Punch is trying hard to land a takedown here. Young sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. A solid body kick from Young. Well Young has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Miyagi tries to clinch but Sanders is having none of it. Miyagi looks to land a body kick but Sanders moved away. Miyagi clinches up with Sanders and pushes him back against the cage. Miyagi is pushing Sanders up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Sanders tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Miyagi just stands there and leans against the cage. That's three minutes gone in the round. Sanders on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Miyagi, right into the meat.
Miyagi walks into a stiff left hand from Sanders. Miyagi drives through and clinches with Sanders against the cage.
Miyagi is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Sanders is defending well for now. Sanders blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Miyagi is stalling here.

Miyagi seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression. Both guys are working to get underhooks. The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Kesuke Miyagi. Miyagi throws a nice outside leg kick. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Sanders avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Miyagi connects with a solid leg kick. Miyagi lands a leg kick that knocks Sanders off balance momentarily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That kick from Miyagi tenderised Sanders's leg. Sanders is trying to keep his angry face on. Miyagi lands a leg kick that knocks Sanders off balance momentarily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Sanders looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Miyagi lands a big head kick that sends Sanders tumbling to the mat! Miyagi takes a step backwards and waves Sanders back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Michael Sanders has been cut. Kesuke Miyagi is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Miyagi has closed the distance and engaged Sanders in a clinch.
Sanders is still on wobbly legs! Can Miyagi finish him? Sanders takes a knee to the side of the body. Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Miyagi obliges. Miyagi connects with a nasty looking knee right to Sanders's face.
Miyagi has Sanders pressed up against the cage in a tight Thai clinch. Sanders is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Miyagi - that's hurt Sanders badly! Oh, another knee lands and Sanders is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Sanders doesn't seem to be complaining.
