Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Deadguy Deftone! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, El Loco! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Alec Ball and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Deftone displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Loco. A combination from Deftone does no damage. Loco will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Loco looks for a takedown but Deftone sprawls well. Deadguy Deftone has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of El Loco. Loco dives in and grabs Deftone's left leg, looking for a takedown. Deftone pushes down on Loco's head and hops out. Excellent takedown into side control there by Loco. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Loco working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Loco is trying to get an arm triangle but Deftone is defending well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Loco wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Deftone, who protects the arm well. Loco creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Deftone sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Loco decides to stand back up. Loco has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Deftone throws a right and a left that both miss. Loco throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Deftone was covering up waiting for the punch and Loco finishes the takedown easily into guard. Loco looks gassed! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Loco wants to pass the guard but Deftone is keeping the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Loco postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Deftone is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Loco, into his guard. Loco wants to stand and escape but Deftone is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Deftone wants to stand but Loco has a closed guard, so he can't escape. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Deadguy Deftone has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Deftone connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Loco's hands. Deftone throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Deftone looks to land a combination. Loco sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
It looks like El Loco has been cut. Deftone throws a one two combo.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Loco on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Loco is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Deftone. Deftone throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Loco. Deftone displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Nice uppercut there from Deftone. Deftone feints a jab promting Loco to slip. Deftone then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Loco slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Deftone throws a nice looking combination but Loco bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Deftone lands a jab-cross combination. Deftone works over Loco's head and body with a nice combination. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Loco is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Deftone. Loco tries to move into range but Deftone moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Sloppy strikes from Deftone. Those never looked like landing. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Deadguy Deftone dominated that round. The cut man is working on El Loco's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Loco shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Deftone as he jumps to the side. Deftone connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Loco takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Loco takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Deftone keeps the fight on the outside. Loco shoots in looking for a takedown but Deftone manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Loco's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Loco is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Deftone's corner calls for a 1-2. Deftone obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Deadguy Deftone is winning the standup battle so far. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Deftone scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Loco doesn't seem bothered though. Deftone looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Loco moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Loco is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Deftone will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Loco misses with a takedown attempt - Deftone sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Deadguy Deftone has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of El Loco. Deftone scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Deftone moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Deadguy Deftone is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Deftone throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Loco. Deftone lands a body shot.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. A right-left combo lands from Deftone. Deftone looks to land a combination. Loco sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Deftone lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Loco backs up against the cage.

Loco shoots in but Deftone avoids the takedown attempt easily. Deftone throws a series of punches but Loco moves out of range. Loco is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Loco shoots in looking for a takedown. Deftone tries to sprawl out of it but Loco keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Deftone manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Deftone scores with a three punch combo!
Deftone is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Loco can do to turn this around? Loco changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Deftone looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Loco looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Loco is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Deftone is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Loco goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Deftone rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Loco's guard! Nice work there by Deftone! Deftone gets to his feet. Loco looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Deftone tries to bum rush Loco with a series of wild strikes but Loco uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Loco moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Deftone scores with a shot to the body.

Deftone throws a series of punches but Loco avoids them all with ease. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Deftone looks to land a combination but Loco avoids it well. Loco gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Loco takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Deadguy Deftone dominated that second round. The cut man is working on El Loco's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Loco wants to clinch. Loco shoots in for a double leg but Deftone sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Deftone throws a good cross that connects.

Loco shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Deftone pinned against the cage. Deftone gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Loco shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Loco is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Deftone is surviving well by controlling Loco's body position as best he can. Loco takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Deftone holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Loco tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Poor strikes thrown by Loco there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Deftone tries to buck Loco off but he can't manage it. Loco trying to control but he's not successful this time. Loco throws some wild stikes that Deftone manages to avoid easily.
Loco goes for an armbar but Deftone turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Deftone. Deftone wants to stand and escape but instead Loco has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Loco won't allow Deftone to get back to his feet. Loco trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Deftone knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Loco on the ground. Loco has gone for a leg lock! Deftone slips out almost immediately though and dives into Loco's guard. Loco tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Deftone stands and steps away. Loco gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Loco doesn't succeed with the takedown enabling Deftone to counter with a crisp jab. Deadguy Deftone has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of El Loco. Deftone lands a head shot. Deftone throws a right and a left that Loco avoids nicely. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Loco will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Deftone lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Loco circles away quickly and effectively. El Loco has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Deadguy Deftone is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Loco changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Deftone tries to avoid it but Loco manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Deftone to the ground. Deftone escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
And that's the end of the fight! Deadguy Deftone showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Deftone, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tavares throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and laTrain counters with a head kick. Tavares connects with a body shot. An inside leg kick lands from laTrain. Tavares stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from laTrain. Tavares fails to land with a series of punches.
laTrain dodges the punch combination from Tavares.
Tavares misses with a wild body shot. laTrain tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. laTrain bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Tavares taking punishment in the form of punches.
This has been an exciting period of action! Tavares is looking to work his way out of this bad position but laTrain is controlling him well. laTrain working the ground and pound from side control. laTrain looks up at the clock and then as Tavares takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, laTrain smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Tavares is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. laTrain scores with a couple of short elbows. laTrain cracks Tavares with a big elbow. Tavares really doesn't want to stay on the ground with laTrain. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Tavares tries to bench press laTrain off him but laTrain keeps the position. laTrain happy to just control the position for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. laTrain has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. laTrain is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Tavares looks calm but he's in trouble here. laTrain gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Tavares is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! laTrain lets go of the hold and Tavares can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Hunter tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Khan manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Hunter changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Khan tries to avoid it but Hunter manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Khan to the ground. Khan escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Hunter throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Khan wants to stand and escape but Hunter is having none of it. Hunter controlling from the top position. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Khan content to control rather than advance. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Khan throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Lenik Khan is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Khan stands up from half guard. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Khan looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Hunter!
And that's the end of the fight! Lenik Khan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Khan winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fist has his takedown stuffed and Romero counters with a combination of strikes to the head and body that crumple Fist!
Fist is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
