Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, El Loco!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Deftone displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Loco.
A combination from Deftone does no damage.
Loco will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Loco looks for a takedown but Deftone sprawls well.
Deadguy Deftone has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of El Loco.
Loco dives in and grabs Deftone's left leg, looking for a takedown. Deftone pushes down on Loco's head and hops out.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Loco.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Loco working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Loco creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Deftone sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Deftone throws a right and a left that both miss.

Loco throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Deftone was covering up waiting for the punch and Loco finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Loco postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Deftone is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Loco, into his guard.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Deadguy Deftone has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Deftone connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Loco's hands.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Loco shoots in looking for a takedown but Deftone manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Loco's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Loco changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Deftone looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Poor strikes thrown by Loco there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Loco has gone for a leg lock! Deftone slips out almost immediately though and dives into Loco's guard.

Tavares stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from laTrain.
Tavares fails to land with a series of punches.
laTrain dodges the punch combination from Tavares.
Tavares misses with a wild body shot.
laTrain tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

laTrain bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Tavares really doesn't want to stay on the ground with laTrain. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

laTrain has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

laTrain is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Tavares looks calm but he's in trouble here. laTrain gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Tavares is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! laTrain lets go of the hold and Tavares can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Hunter comes to the cage accompanied by Kanye West - I Don't Like (Remix) Feat. Pusha T, Chief Keef, Big Sean, & J. Khan comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Mr. Crowley kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The key to victory for Brandon Hunter has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.
