The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diablo shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ryota pinned against the cage. Ryota gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Diablo looks for a takedown but Ryota sprawls well.
Diablo looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Kohaku Ryota has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dick Diablo .
Ryota throws a chopping leg kick but Diablo manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Ryota defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Diablo .

Diablo is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ryota is aware though and is defending well.

Ryota slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Diablo tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ryota wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Ryota is working to tighten is grip on Diablo 's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Diablo has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Ryota is really squeezing tight and eventually Diablo passes out! Ryota breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Lucas loads up on a big right hand but Cobretti slips the punch.
Lucas misses with a body shot.
Lucas missing with a left hand there. Cobretti was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Lucas moves out of range of the leg kick from Cobretti.
Cobretti misses with a takedown attempt
and Lucas counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Cobretti looking to score a takedown here. Lucas is defending well but Cobretti drives through and ends up in Lucas's guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Lucas pulls Cobretti in to control the position.
Lucas wants to sweep here but Cobretti controlling him for the moment.

Cobretti engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Lucas looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Cobretti puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Cobretti looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cobretti manages to capitalize on a mistake by Lucas to take his back!
Cobretti is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Lucas has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Cobretti has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Lucas taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Cobretti doesn't care though - he's delighted!

After winning the bout, Marcello Cobretti thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
