Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jimothy Mazor! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, James Steptoe! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Ryoma Takatsuka and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Steptoe has his takedown stuffed and Mazor counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Steptoe shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mazor sprawls well. Mazor wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Steptoe gets slowly back to his feet. Steptoe shoots for a double leg takedown but Mazor sprawls well. He's pushed Steptoe's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Jimothy Mazor has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Steptoe. Mazor throws a head kick that misses. Steptoe blocks a low kick nicely. Steptoe fails with a takedown attempt. Mazor stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Mazor wants it to stay on the feet. Mazor tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Steptoe paws at him with a jab and circles away. Mazor doesn't manage to clinch there - Steptoe circles away.
Steptoe tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mazor sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Steptoe somewhat. Mazor misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Steptoe is trying hard to land a takedown here. Mazor sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Mazor displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Steptoe. Steptoe tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mazor sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Steptoe somewhat. Steptoe looks gassed! Steptoe tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mazor swivels and escapes. Mazor fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Steptoe, pushing him back against the cage. Mazor stalling against the cage.
Steptoe jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Mazor walks away with a smile on his face. Steptoe gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Mazor tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. A slapping body kick lands there for Mazor. Steptoe checks the leg kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mazor wants to clinch. Mazor throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Steptoe tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mazor sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Steptoe somewhat. Steptoe fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Steptoe with a lazy takedown attempt and Mazor counters with a slapping leg kick. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Mazor tries a head kick but it misses.
Steptoe takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Steptoe dives in and grabs Mazor's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mazor pushes down on Steptoe's head and hops out. Mazor misses the shot to the body. Steptoe shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mazor sprawls well. Mazor wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Steptoe gets slowly back to his feet. Mazor closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mazor unloads a knee to the mid-section. Steptoe tries to pull guard but Mazor won't allow it.
Mazor effectively controlling the action here. Mazor working Steptoe over with knees to the body. Mazor connects with a nasty looking knee right to Steptoe's face.
It looks like James Steptoe has been cut. Mazor leaning his opponent against the cage. Steptoe jumps guard but Mazor turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. A bit of stalling here from Mazor.

Steptoe is rocked! Mazor jerks Steptoe's head down, straight into the path of a devastating knee! Steptoe drops to the floor in a crumpled heap! Mazor goes to throw a finishing haymaker but pulls out - good sportsmanship from Mazor because Steptoe was completely out of it. That was a nice finish - just the right level of brutality to send everyone home happy.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:08 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knee). Jimothy Mazor! Jimothy Mazor tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mayfield shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Mayfield was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Burke working to try and regain half guard.
Mayfield with the ground and pound from mount. Mayfield has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Burke in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Burke in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Burke is looking to improve his position but Mayfield isn't that keen on the idea. Mayfield tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Let's hope that Mayfield has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Burke is trying to escape the mount.

That's one minute gone in the round. Mayfield is landing with some decent strikes but Burke is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Burke might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Mayfield lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Mayfield postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Burke bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Mayfield and the fight is over!
