The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Wallace is defended easily by Anastasia.
Anastasia's corner calls for a 1-2. Anastasia obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Anastasia really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Wallace has his foot on Anastasia's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Anastasia works his way back into a safe position though.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Wallace can do anything to dispel that myth.

Ko swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Gardner throws a shot from downtown. Ko moves away and avoids it.
Gardner fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ko manages to avoid it.
Gardner tries to clinch there but Ko circles away.
Jab, jab by Gardner - just one landing.
No joy there for Gardner, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Gardner bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Ko's head backwards.
Ko looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Ko darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Gardner lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Ko backs up against the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
