The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck with that takedown attempt from Gracie. Horrible takedown by Gracie or perhaps it was just good defense by Rodrigues which made him look bad. Gracie is breathing heavily. Rodrigues looks for the body kick but Gracie saw that one coming. Gracie looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Rodrigues is fending him off so far but Gracie persists. Nope, Rodrigues circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Renzo Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rodrigues buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gracie avoids a kick to the body.
Gracie walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Gracie drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Gracie feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rodrigues lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Gracie! Rodrigues raining down shots from the mount! Rodrigues dominating with strikes here. Gracie is trying desperately to improve position. Rodrigues putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Rodrigues working Gracie over with strikes here. Rodrigues with a couple of short strikes. Rodrigues is landing with some decent strikes but Gracie is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Gracie is rocked! Rodrigues working Gracie over with strikes here. Oh Gracie is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Rodrigues has control of Gracie's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Gracie regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Rodrigues connects with a bit shot that sees Gracie covering up! More strikes from Rodrigues and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Rodrigues is our winner by TKO!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sakuraba uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Guy. Sakuraba fails with a takedown attempt. Sakuraba attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. A punch combination from Sakuraba misses. A jab from Guy does it's job there. Guy throws out a loose jab but Sakuraba uses good head movement to avoid it. Guy throws a lazy right hand but Sakuraba sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. A big right from Guy misses. A big right from Guy misses. Sakuraba closes this distance looking for a takedown but Guy circles away. Guy misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Guy misses with a wild body shot. Guy connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
That's one minute gone in the round. Guy swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Sakuraba moves out of range of the strikes. Sakuraba has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Guy finds it's way round the side to connect with Sakuraba's head. Guy throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Sakuraba is defended easily by Guy. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hidehiko Sakuraba. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sakuraba dodges the punch combination from Guy.
Sakuraba blocks a jab. Guy scores with a one two! Sakuraba had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

A punch lands to the side of Sakuraba 's head but he takes it in his stride. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Guy throws a combination that misses and Sakuraba counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Sakuraba wants to control from the top but Guy keeps moving. Guy looking to control.
Guy is looking to stand back up but Sakuraba counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Guy. Sakuraba stops Guy from getting back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sakuraba is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Guy doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Sakuraba. Guy wants to control but Sakuraba is keeping busy.
Guy is trying to get back to full guard. Sakuraba keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Guy wants to control but Sakuraba is keeping busy and won't allow it. Sakuraba looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Guy really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sakuraba. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Nice jab there from Palowakski. Marques drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Marques must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Marques is breathing heavily. This has been an exciting period of action! Palowakski manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

It looks like Steve Buscemi has been cut. Regan throws a sloppy head kick and Buscemi moves out of range easily. Buscemi keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Buscemi tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Regan is able to avoid easily. Buscemi fails with an attempt to clinch.
Regan seems to be stalking Buscemi here. He circles momentarily and then unleashes a devastatic head kick! Buscemi drops like a stone, out cold! WOW! Are you kidding me!? What a knockout!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Falcone thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Randlecan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Falcone. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Randlecan can't do much from the bottom here.
