Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Fadden! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, John Mica! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Robert Douchet and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mica tries to clinch but Fadden moves out of range. Fadden looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Fadden bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Mica! He dives into his guard looking to finish!
Mica is rocked!
It looks like John Mica has been cut. Mica is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Mica is still in real trouble! Can Fadden finish him? Fadden tries to stand but Mica is controlling from the bottom. Mica seems to have recovered his senses. Fadden is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Fadden wants to stand but Mica has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Mica is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fadden wants to control from the top but Mica keeps moving. Mica working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Fadden doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Fadden manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fadden in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Fadden tries to free his leg and advance position but Mica is retaining full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fadden trying to control the position from guard on top but Mica is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Fadden trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Fadden wants to control from the top but Mica keeps moving. Fadden decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Mica, up you get! The fight moves into the clinch position. Mica tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Fadden just stands there and leans against the cage. Fadden gets control of Mica's arms and successfully pulls guard. Fadden will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Mica tries to free his leg and advance position but Fadden is retaining full guard. Mica looks gassed! Mica drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mica jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Fadden is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Mica is aware though and is defending well. Fadden working for a triangle but Mica defends it easily.
Fadden is looking to stand up but Mica isn't so interested in that idea. Mica drops back looking for a leg! Fadden is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Fadden manages to kick Mica off! Mica jumps back into Fadden's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fadden pushes Mica off and gets back to his feet.
Fadden scores with a nice right hand.
It's a brutal combination of punches from Fadden! Mica is backing up but he can't get away as Fadden lands with one final shot to the jaw that drops Mica and ends the fight. Great knockout.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Macdonnell clinches. Knob tries to pull guard but Macdonnell won't allow it.

Macdonnell lands a good knee to the midsection. Knob won't want to take too many of those. Knob takes an elbow to the temple.
It looks like Door Knob has been cut. Knob tries to pull guard but Macdonnell won't allow it.

Knob jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Macdonnell walks away with a smile on his face. Knob gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Knob will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Macdonnell is looking to clinch. Macdonnell takes a body punch but keeps moving. Knob checks a leg kick. Macdonnell shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Macdonnell takes a jab right on the kisser.
Macdonnell looks gassed! Knob scores with a one two! Macdonnell had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Knob jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Macdonnell ducks right into an uppercut from Knob.
Macdonnell is rocked! Knob fakes the body blow, causing Macdonnell to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Macdonnell goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!

2 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Tyler Vassell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Georges Piere! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Gregory Folan and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vassell misses with a looping right. A punch combination from Piere misses. Piere explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. Piere takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Georges Piere seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Vassell changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Vassell looks to land a body kick but Piere moved away. Vassell avoids the head kick by Piere.
Vassell shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Piere but Piere pushes him off and we're back to square one. Vassell lands a jab-cross combination. Good leg kick by Piere there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Piere throws a leg kick which misses Vassell's front leg but catches the back leg as Vassell tries to avoid it. Piere lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Vassell circles away quickly and effectively. Vassell misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Vassell throws a lazy right hand but Piere sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Vassell misses with a jab, cross combination.
Piere throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Vassell steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Piere. That one must have hurt. Vassell lands a left and a right that send Piere crashing to the mat, dazed. Vassell thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Piere is rocked! Vassell cracks Piere with a brutal left hook that knocks him out cold! This one is over in a flash! Game over!

He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Cherry tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Torchertime was well out of range. Poor timing from Cherry. Torchertime tries to clinch but Cherry is having none of it. Cherry tries to work over Torchertime's front leg with a kick but Torchertime checks it. Cherry looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Torchertime is fending him off so far but Cherry persists. Nope, Torchertime circles away and we're back to standing. Cherry drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Cherry stands up and beckons Torchertime to his feet. Torchertime shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Torchertime showed some decent athleticism there. Cherry tries to get to full guard but Torchertime has control of the leg.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cherry has one foot on Torchertime's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Torchertime lands a nice hook to Cherry's body. Cherry takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Torchertime fails with a takedown attempt. Torchertime shoots and misses and Cherry counters with a right hand to the body. Cherry scores with a shot to the body.

He shot from a bit too far out. Cherry walks into a stiff left hand from Torchertime. Cherry shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Torchertime as he avoids it easily. Torchertime tries to clinch but Cherry moves away and Cherry counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Torchertime thinking. Torchertime has a takedown stuffed. Cherry drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Cherry misses with an attempted head punch from side control. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Torchertime is looking to reverse the position. Cherry stands up and beckons Torchertime to his feet. Torchertime throws a right and a left that both miss. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Don Cherry dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Cherry will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. The fight stays on the outside here - Torchertime looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Torchertime is looking to clinch. Cherry has Torchertime up against the cage in a clinch.
Torchertime breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Cherry swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

Torchertime tries to move to mount but Cherry blocks the move with his legs. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Cherry can do anything to dispel that myth. Cherry is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Torchertime off and has taken his back! Torchertime covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.

Torchertime is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Cherry is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Torchertime staying busy and making it hard for Cherry to control. Cherry is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Torchertime has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Torchertime breaks Cherry's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Cherry defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Torchertime. Cherry listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Cherry misses the shot to the body. Cherry tries to clinch up but Torchertime circles away and keeps his distance. Good work by Torchertime as he checks the leg kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Cherry shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Torchertime but Torchertime pushes him off and we're back to square one. Torchertime shoots in looking for a takedown. Cherry tries to sprawl out of it but Torchertime keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Cherry manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Torchertime dives in and grabs Cherry's left leg, looking for a takedown. Cherry pushes down on Torchertime's head and hops out. Torchertime throws a nice looking combination but Cherry bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Cherry throws a head kick but Torchertime moves out of range.
Cherry misses the jab. The fighters circle momentarily. Cherry darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Torchertime shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Cherry pinned against the cage. Cherry gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Torchertime takes a body punch but keeps moving. Torchertime moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Cherry slips a straight right by Torchertime. Cherry tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Torchertime is able to avoid easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Tank Torchertime will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Cherry pushes Torchertime away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Torchertime gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Torchertime misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Cherry being controlled for a moment. You can see the frustration on Cherry's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Torchertime wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cherry keeps working.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Torchertime throws an elbow but Cherry slips to the side and avoids it well. Torchertime laying and praying for a moment but Cherry takes advantage and regains half guard. Torchertime wants to get back to his feet.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Cherry walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Cherry shoots in for a takedown and gets it. It looks like Cherry is going to stand back up.
And that's the end of the fight! Don Cherry comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Cherry has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. Me checks a low kick from Estrada. Mini Me seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Estrada throws a looping overhand right but Me ducks down to avoid it. Me leaves Estrada with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Me darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Me connects with a good right hand that stumbles Estrada. Estrada circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Me moves in looking to clinch but Estrada pushes him off. Me clinches with his opponent.
Still in the clinch, Me scores with a nice short uppercut. Me breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Estrada lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Me circles away quickly and effectively. Me connects with the punch.
