The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Romero slaps away a takedown attempt from Fist, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Romero throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Fist doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Romero counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

It looks like Hammer Fist has been cut.
Rodniel Romero seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Romero throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Fist's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Romero dives in looking to finish as Fist flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Romero's strikes! Romero is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Fist's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Fist was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.

Rodniel Romero decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.

Religion feints and as Laser raises his hands in defense, Religion changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
cb fails with the takedown

and Loco holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Loco is breathing heavily.

Loco is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. cb can't fight it off and eventually Loco manages to take the fight to the floor. cb looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Loco thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
cb is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Loco wants to control from the top but cb keeps moving.
cb wants to sweep here but Loco controlling him for the moment.

That's one minute gone in the round.

cb working for a triangle but Loco defends it easily.
cb really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Loco. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Loco tries to free his leg and advance position but cb is retaining full guard.

Loco drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and cb dives on top into guard.
cb throws a strike but Loco rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Loco is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Loco drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but cb manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Loco has cb in his guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Loco has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. cb doesn't defend quickly enough and Loco has managed to lock this one up! Can cb escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Loco on a fantastic submission victory.

El Loco decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.

and Smalls connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Manitoba ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Osiris Smalls has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Winnipeg Manitoba.
Smalls fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Smalls scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Smalls throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Manitoba is still on wobbly legs! Can Smalls finish him?
Smalls misses with a head kick.
Smalls connects with a body shot that sends Manitoba's belly button to the back.
Manitoba leaves his chin hanging out and Smalls seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Manitoba crumbles to the floor in a heap, and the referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!

Dunne ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Dunne no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
McGirt throws a big elbow that misses.
McGirt chips away with some ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dunne has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think McGirt should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Dunne has tightened it up now! McGirt should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Deftone tries to break the clinch but Winner is controlling the position.

Winner escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Deftone swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Winner missing with a left hand there. Deftone was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Deftone blocks a head kick by Winner.
Deftone has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

It looks like Deadguy Deftone has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Deftone misses with a hook. Winner ducked under it nicely.
Winner missing with a left hand there. Deftone was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Winner changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Deftone looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
