1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hy Per! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Yves DeLean and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! DeVoutert scores with a body shot.
Per closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. DeVoutert is trying to control but can't.
DeVoutert is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Per scores with a couple of nice shots. DeVoutert is trying to stand up here but Per is controlling him well. Per with the ground and pound but DeVoutert uses the opportunity to regain guard. Per controls from within his opponent's guard. DeVoutert is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Per is controlling him. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. DeVoutert being controlled here, momentarily.

DeVoutert has left one of his arms exposed and Per doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. DeVoutert screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bakak stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Bakak wants it to stay on the feet. Mikhalev throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Bakak shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mikhalev as he jumps to the side. Mikhalev is trying hard to land a takedown here. Bakak sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Bakak throws an overhand right that lands on Mikhalev's shoulder, as Mikhalev tries to avoid the shot. Bakak shoots in and drives through. Mikhalev sprawls well. Mikhalev darts in and clinches Bakak up against the cage. Mikhalev is looking to take this one to the mat. Osama Bakak has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dima Mikhalev. A bit of stalling here from Mikhalev.
Mikhalev has had enough of the clinch but Bakak keeps him there for the moment. Mikhalev prevents a takedown attempt there.
Bakak is looking to take this one to the mat. Bakak jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Mikhalev walks away with a smile on his face. Bakak gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Horrible takedown by Bakak or perhaps it was just good defense by Mikhalev which made him look bad. Bakak shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Bakak advances to half guard. Bakak is looking for a kimura but Mikhalev is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Bakak to get the leverage. Bakak really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Mikhalev tries to roll over but Bakak keeps him under control. Mikhalev is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Bakak wants to pass to mount but Mikhalev is defending the position. Mikhalev preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mikhalev won't allow Bakak to pass to mount. Mikhalev is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Mikhalev won't allow Bakak to pass to mount. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Mikhalev on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Bakak is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard. Bakak wants to control from the top but Mikhalev keeps moving. Mikhalev doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Mikhalev is adopting a defensive guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bakak accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Bakak lands a couple of decent looking shots. Bakak advances position into side control! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mikhalev is trying to improve his position. Bakak grinds an elbow into Mikhalev's temple. Mikhalev is trying to get back to half guard. Mikhalev really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bakak. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Mikhalev wants to control but Bakak postures up. Mikhalev looks gassed!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bakak throws an elbow but Mikhalev slips to the side and avoids it well. Bakak tries to advance to mount but can't. Bakak tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Bakak has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Mikhalev tries to bench press Bakak off him but Bakak keeps the position. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Bakak is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Mikhalev is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Bakak in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Mikhalev manages to work his way to half guard, despite Bakak's best efforts. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Osama Bakak dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Bakak seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Mikhalev is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

The ref calls for Dodson to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
