The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Slaughter instigates a clinch.
Bex lands a good knee to the midsection. Slaughter won't want to take too many of those.
Slaughter drops down looking for an ankle pick but Bex pulls his leg out and moves away.
Bex works Slaughter's body with a nice hook.
Slaughter takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

It looks like Sgt Slaughter has been cut.
Slaughter looks gassed!
Bex dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

The cut above Sgt Slaughter's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

Bex lands a vicious elbow to the side of Slaughter's head that scrambles his senses and sends him wobbling down to the canvas! Bex tries to finish him with strikes but Slaughter still seems able to defend himself so Bex steps back and lets Slaughter get back to his feet - he wants no part of the ground game.

Slaughter is rocked!

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Sgt Slaughter's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jervis Jarvainian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patrick Bateman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jarvainian comes to the ring accompanied by Pump up the jam. Patrick Bateman told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bateman misses with a wild combination.
Jarvainian throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Bateman misses with a few strikes there.
Bateman shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Jarvainian eats them both and turns towards Bateman to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

It looks like Jervis Jarvainian has been cut.
Jarvainian fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bateman avoids it really well and circles away.
Bateman displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Jarvainian.
Bateman throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Bateman rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jarvainian moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Jarvainian fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jervis Jarvainian. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Bateman throws a left and a right that both miss
and Jarvainian counters with a lovely straight right hand!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Jarvainian.
Jarvainian shoots in looking for a takedown. Bateman tries to sprawl out of it but Jarvainian keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Bateman manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Bateman drops Jarvainian with a beautiful combination! Jarvainian stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Bateman is looking for the KO!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jarvainian doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Bateman counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Oh Jarvainian is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Jarvainian is breathing heavily.
Bateman throws a series of punches but Jarvainian moves out of range.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Jarvainian. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Bateman misses with a few strikes there.

Bateman fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jarvainian, pushing him back against the ropes.
Bateman lands an elbow that stopped Jarvainian in his tracks for a moment.
Bateman dips a shoulder and cracks Jarvainian with a mighty uppercut! Jarvainian falls back against the ropes and Bateman unloads with a barrage of strikes! Jarvainian is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the ropes! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Bateman screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Patrick Bateman!
After the fight, Patrick Bateman was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.

The Chef fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Penn, pushing him back against the ropes.

The Chef drags the fight down to the ground.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Penn passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Penn tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Penn has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The Chef is trying to control Penn's posture but Penn avoids it.

Penn goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, The Chef rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Penn's guard! Nice work there by The Chef!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Clay fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Velasquez has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brodus Clay dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Clay tries to clinch there but Velasquez circles away.
Clay lands with a cross.

It looks like Cain Velasquez has been cut.
Velasquez takes one to the side of the head.
Clay throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Velasquez stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Velasquez throws an off balance right hand
and Clay counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Clay moves into the clinch successfully.
Clay lands a left hand.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Clay gets underhooks to prevent Velasquez's takedown attempt.
Clay stalling in the clinch but Velasquez improves position.
The referee calls for Clay to work.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Clay continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Brodus Clay.

Oooooh!!! Clay has knocked Velasquez down with a huge combo! Clay steps away and waves a wobbly Velasquez back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Clay has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Clay lands a slapping body shot.
Oh Velasquez is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Velasquez gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Clay gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Velasquez is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hatking wants to clinch but Walters slips to the side
and Walters counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Hatking thinking.
Walters throws the kick towards the body but Hatking avoids it.
Walters swings for the body but Hatking moves out of range.
Hatking is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Hatking is trying hard to land a takedown here. Walters sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Hatking tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Walters scores with a jab to the body.
Hatking takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Walters scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

It looks like Amileo Hatking has been cut.

Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Walters!
Walters comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Walters lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Hatking has a takedown stuffed.
Walters stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Walters throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Walters bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Hatking's head backwards.
Hatking tries to clinch
and Walters counters with a three punch combo that has Hatking backing up. Hatking nods at Walters to acknowledge the strikes.

Hatking is rocked!
Walters scores with a one two! Hatking had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Oh Hatking is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Hatking is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Walters cracks Hatking with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Walters has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Hatking to stand back up!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Walters misses with the combination.
Walters lands with a right that hurts Hatking. Hatking looks to clinch but Walters throws a short knee that drops Hatking. This one is all over!

Skallagrimson walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

It looks like Hlynur Skallagrimson has been cut.
Horn lands a nice looking kick to the body. Skallagrimson takes a step back to recover.
Horn tries to close the distance and clinch but Skallagrimson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Jab, jab by Horn - just one landing.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Skallagrimson takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Skallagrimson looks gassed!

Horn drops Skallagrimson with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Skallagrimson looks back up at him and smiles so Horn waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Skallagrimson is rocked!
Horn goes for a small jab and connects. Now Horn goes in closer pressing the issue. Left hook, right straight! Skallagrimson stumbles back but Horn runs in with a huge uppercut knocking Skallagrimson to the ground! What a finish! You have to wonder if Skallagrimson will ever be the same after a knockout like that.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Kenny Horn!
Kenny Horn retains his super heavyweight title!
In his post fight interview, Kenny Horn gave a big smile as he said 'I told ya all!?! *smiles*'.
