Cao closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Cao lands in his opponent's guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Cao drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Cao jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Hermann Von Duisberg. Cao shoots in and gets a takedown into Von Duisberg's guard. Cao passes easily into side control. Nice work. Von Duisberg wants to get back to his feet but Cao drags him back down. Cao is trying to get an arm triangle but Von Duisberg is defending well.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Cao misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Cao is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Von Duisberg is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Von Duisberg can't do much from the bottom here.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stark shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Boxer Jr defends it nicely. Stark uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Boxer Jr. Boxer Jr with a nice cross. Stark fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Boxer Jr avoids it really well and circles away. Stark shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Boxer Jr tries to reverse the position but Stark maintains control. Stark landing strikes from the mount and Boxer Jr is in trouble! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Stark has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Boxer Jr's face.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. The referee warns Boxer Jr that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Boxer Jr is rocked! A big strike lands for Stark! That's really hurt Boxer Jr and he's turned his back - Stark keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Stark jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Eddard Stark! Eddard Stark made sure to give a little speech post fight, saying 'Any ladies interested im having a vagetarian smorg in my room after fights, room 1301 at the hilton. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as El Toro holds on and takes a little breather. Palhares trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Palhares is in close to El Toro's body, working some short punches and elbows. El Toro looking to hit a scissor sweep but Palhares is one step ahead there. Palhares loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. El Toro wants to sweep but no luck.

Palhares seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but El Toro does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. No luck for Palhares with that takedown attempt. El Toro throws a leg kick that is checked and Palhares counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. El Toro lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Palhares circles away quickly and effectively. El Toro digs a good body shot into Palhares's ribs. El Toro will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Palhares shoots for a double leg takedown but El Toro sprawls well. He's pushed Palhares's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Arkley slaps away a takedown attempt from Granite, before circling back to the center of the mat. Granite shoots in looking for a takedown but Arkley manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Granite's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Arkley gets caught flat footed, as Granite shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Granite sitting in guard here, content to control. Granite trying to control the position from guard on top but Arkley is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Arkley lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Granite! Arkley tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Arkley lands with a nice combination. Granite backs away looking to recover.
It looks like Rocky Granite has been cut. A big right from Arkley misses. That's going to take a lot out of him. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Granite defending well as Arkley loads up on a big left hand. Arkley fails to land with a series of punches.
Granite moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Granite is defended easily by Arkley. Granite closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Granite is trying to move to mount but Arkley reverses beautifully and ends up in Granite's guard. Granite is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Granite seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Arkley does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Granite not landing any meaningful shots this time. James Arkley has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
