The bell rings for round one and we are underway! PEGADOR looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Alves is fending him off so far but PEGADOR persists. Nope, Alves circles away and we're back to standing. PEGADOR fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Alves!
It looks like Jose PEGADOR has been cut. PEGADOR throws a combination that misses and Alves holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Alves gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, PEGADOR regains guard.
Alves thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Alves slips nicely into half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Alves is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and PEGADOR defends it well. PEGADOR wants to control but Alves is keeping busy and won't allow it. Alves works his foot free and advances to mount. A nice elbow there by Alves. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cheese gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Cheese utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Cheese has Raiser pulled in close to control his posture. Cheese is looking for a triangle but Raiser pushes his legs off easily.
Cheese looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Raiser is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Cheese is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Cheese has escaped and now he's on top! Cheese trying to control the position from guard on top but Raiser is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Raiser trying to control the position.

That's one minute gone in the round. Raiser preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Cheese stopping the sweep attempt from Raiser. Cheese sitting in guard, not really doing much. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cheese wants to pass the guard but Raiser is keeping the position. Raiser striking off his back but it's not causing Cheese any problems.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Raiser is trying hard to land a takedown here. Cheese sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Raiser misses with a two punch combination.
Raiser throws a sloppy head kick and Cheese moves out of range easily. Cheese tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Raiser paws at him with a jab and circles away. Raiser closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Raiser gets a trip takedown into half guard. Raiser is working for a kimura but Cheese is defending it quite comfortably.
Raiser is thwarting Cheese's attempts to control the position. Cheese looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Raiser is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Cheese doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Raiser.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Raiser is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Raiser is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Cheese still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Cheese has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work! Raiser tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Cheese tries to clinch but Raiser moves out of range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Raiser throws a chopping leg kick but Cheese manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Raiser looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Cheese is fending him off so far but Raiser persists. Nope, Cheese circles away and we're back to standing. Cheese keeps the fight on the outside. Cheese misses with a takedown and Raiser counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Cheese is defending against the submission attempts here by Raiser.
Cheese looking for submissions off his back. Raiser seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Cheese does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Cheese wants to improve his position but Raiser is controlling well.

Tony Raiser dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Cheese landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Harold Cheese overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Raiser is not content to let Cheese control the position. Raiser tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Cheese wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Raiser's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Cheese has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Raiser is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Cheese yanks on the arm and Raiser is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Cheese.

Schmuckatelli takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Schmuckatelli tries a head kick but it misses.

It looks like Optimus Maximus has been cut. Maximus goes for a takedown in the clinch but Schmuckatelli prevents it.

That's one minute gone in the round. Schmuckatelli sizes up Maximus with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Schmuckatelli cracks a nice hook into Maximus's ribs. Schmuckatelli connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Maximus's hands. Schmuckatelli scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Maximus looks gassed! A kick lands to the mid section there for Schmuckatelli. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Schmuckatelli getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Schmuckatelli throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Maximus stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Schmuckatelli scores with the left hand. Maximus knows he should have avoided that one. A nice inside leg kick there by Schmuckatelli. That's going to slow Maximus down. Maximus takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Schmuckatelli lands a head kick!
That has opened up Optimus Maximus's cut even more. Joe Schmuckatelli seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Schmuckatelli, right into the meat.
Schmuckatelli lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Maximus takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Schmuckatelli misses with a few strikes there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Schmuckatelli fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Maximus. Schmuckatelli forces Maximus back against the cage and clinches. Schmuckatelli lands with a left to the head. Maximus takes a shot to the head. Maximus is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Schmuckatelli lands a right hand. Schmuckatelli scores a nice knee to the body.

Schmuckatelli throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Maximus checks the leg kick nicely there.
Maximus fails with a takedown attempt. Schmuckatelli lands a nice hook to Maximus's body. Maximus takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Schmuckatelli cracks a nice hook into Maximus's ribs. Maximus throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Schmuckatelli's waist but Schmuckatelli gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Maximus off to one side.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Schmuckatelli dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Maximus. That did some damage! A punch combination from Maximus misses. Schmuckatelli scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Maximus takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.

Couch wants to stand up but Kornikova is controlling him. Couch has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kornikova can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Couch is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Kornikova lands a couple of decent looking shots. That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Fertit throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Fertit really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Grigoriev. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Grigoriev is pressing down on Fertit's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Fertit throwing strikes from guard but Grigoriev blocks nicely. Grigoriev is trying to control the position but Fertit postures up. Grigoriev manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Fertit manages to get himself to full guard.
Grigoriev lands a couple of digs. Grigoriev stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Fertit swivels though and keeps the full guard. Fertit wants to stand but Grigoriev is controlling the position.

Grigoriev keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Fertit's head. Fertit can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Grigoriev controls the pace. Grigoriev trying to control the position from guard on top but Fertit is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Fertit is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Grigoriev is controlling him. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Grigoriev slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
