Shroom darts in and clinches Fernandez up against the cage.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDougall displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Flave.

Flave gets caught napping as McDougall dives in and scores a takedown. Flave manages to retain guard.
McDougall must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Flave pushes a forearm under McDougall's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, McDougall is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Davis shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Plank as he jumps to the side.
Plank throws a nice head kick!
Davis shoots in but Plank avoids the takedown attempt easily.
John Plank seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Plank lands a high kick!

It looks like Ricky Davis has been cut.
Plank swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Davis.
Davis shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Plank defends it nicely.

Ricky Davis is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Plank lands a nice leg kick that just misses Davis's sensitive parts.
Davis has his takedown stuffed
and Plank cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Plank has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Davis shoots in for a takedown but Plank shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Plank dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Davis. That did some damage!
Davis gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Plank gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
