Schmelly comes to the ring accompanied by Possibility. Matos has chosen Linkin Park - New Divide as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Lucas Matos! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Colin Fray and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Matos looks to land a right hand but Schmelly moved out of range. Matos staying out of range there. Matos avoids a punch combination nicely.
Matos fails with a takedown attempt. Matos gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Schmelly counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Schmelly throws a jab but it's blocked by Matos. Matos looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Schmelly is fending him off so far but Matos persists. Nope, Schmelly circles away and we're back to standing. Barry Schmelly has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lucas Matos. Schmelly dips to his left and cracks Matos with an uppercut! Schmelly connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Matos with a poor takedown letting Schmelly counter with a right hand. Matos gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Matos takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
That's one minute gone in the round. Schmelly smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Schmelly throws a big overhand right that connects, sending Matos tumbling to the canvas!
Matos is rocked! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Matos looking to hit a scissor sweep but Schmelly is one step ahead there. Matos is still in real trouble! Can Schmelly finish him? Schmelly pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Matos is keeping the position for now. Matos seems to have recovered his senses. Matos lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Schmelly! Schmelly holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Matos tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Matos wants to control the pace but Schmelly is squirming around nicely. Schmelly bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Matos bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Schmelly's guard. Matos wants to control from the top but Schmelly keeps moving. Matos has gone for a leg lock! Schmelly slips out almost immediately though and dives into Matos's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Matos is trying to keep Schmelly in close.
Matos keeping full guard, as Schmelly tries to pass. Schmelly is looking to stand up but Matos won't let him. Matos trying to keep a closed guard but Schmelly is proving a slippery customer.
Schmelly is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Matos throws his legs up looking for a submission but Schmelly uses it to pass to side control.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Matos is trying to improve his position. Matos manages to get back to half guard. Matos tries to get to full guard but Schmelly has control of the leg. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Matos is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Schmelly jabs Matos to the body, keeping him at a distance. Matos shoots in and drives through. Schmelly sprawls well. A swing and a miss from Matos. No luck with that takedown attempt from Matos. A slow jab from Schmelly misses its intended target. Matos shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Schmelly is trying to defend but Matos finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Schmelly is concentrating on defense, preventing Matos from advancing position.

Schmelly has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Matos is working away from the top position though. Matos is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Matos is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Schmelly is just riding it out for now. Matos eventually gives up the hold. Matos prevents Schmelly from standing back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Matos trying to mount his opponent but Schmelly defends it. Matos is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Schmelly doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Matos. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Matos wants to lay and pray for a moment but Schmelly keeps working.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Matos might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Schmelly kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Matos is looking for a kimura but Schmelly is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Matos to get the leverage. Matos is trying to control. Schmelly wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Matos thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Schmelly is refusing to be controlled, as Matos sits in half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Matos wants to work for an arm triangle but Schmelly is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Lucas Matos showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Matos is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Matos fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Schmelly to the ground. Matos is now in Schmelly's guard. Matos wants to control from the top but Schmelly keeps moving. Schmelly pulls Matos in close to prevent any damage. Schmelly looking for a sweep. Not yet Schmelly, not yet. Schmelly keeping moving, preventing Matos from controlling successfully. Schmelly working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Matos.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Matos looks to score with a jab to the body but Schmelly is just out of range. Schmelly keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Matos shoots in for a takedown but Schmelly shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Matos misses with a takedown and Schmelly connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Barry Schmelly has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lucas Matos. Matos shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Schmelly sprawls well. Schmelly wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Matos gets slowly back to his feet. Schmelly jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Schmelly throws a lazy right hand but Matos sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Matos shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Barry Schmelly is winning the standup battle so far. Matos connects with a good right hand that stumbles Schmelly. Schmelly circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Barry Schmelly is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Matos shoots in and drives through. Schmelly sprawls well. Matos takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Schmelly paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Matos displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Schmelly throws out the jab. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Matos takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Matos is trying hard to land a takedown here. Schmelly sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Schmelly keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Matos takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Matos takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Matos misses with a takedown and Schmelly counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Good shot there by Schmelly. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Schmelly throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Schmelly lands an overhand right. Matos waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Schmelly. Matos defending well as Schmelly loads up on a big left hand.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. De Paiva Santos has his opponent pinned against the ropes, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Knight's face.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Schwalle throws an overhand right that lands on Trott's shoulder, as Trott tries to avoid the shot. Schwalle takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Schwalle falls off balance throwing a combination
and Trott counters with a nice low kick that buckles Schwalle's knee momentarily. Crunch! Trott slams his shin into Schwalle's torso. Trott fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Schwalle. Trott turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Schwalle throws a big shot that misses. A jab from Trott does it's job there. Trott lands a body shot.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Schwalle on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Trott. Trott obviously looking to wear him down.
Oliver Schwalle seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Schwalle lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Trott circles away quickly and effectively. Trott connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Schwalle's hands. Schwalle connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Schwalle throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Trott scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Trott jabs Schwalle to the body, keeping him at a distance. Schwalle stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Trott. Schwalle on the wrong end of a nice jab. Trott cracks Schwalle with a good jab. Schwalle thows a left - swing and a miss!
That's one minute gone in the round. Trott dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Schwalle. That did some damage! Schwalle lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
It looks like Jonathan Trott has been cut. Schwalle is breathing heavily. Schwalle doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Schwalle takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Schwalle is rocked! Trott turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Oh Schwalle is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Trott jabs Schwalle to the body, keeping him at a distance. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Trott moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Schwalle seems to have got his legs back now. Trott connects with a solid leg kick. Trott catches Schwalle with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Trott fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Schwalle. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Schwalle crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Trott - the referee stops the clock and Schwalle gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Trott. Schwalle manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Trott fakes the leg kick and cracks Schwalle in the body. Trott drops Schwalle with a big left hand! Schwalle is injured, injured bad! Trott jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Walters closes the distance and clinches up with Le, looking for a takedown. Walters pushes Le against the ropes but Le circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Le tries to clinch but Walters moves out of range. Le throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Walters stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. No joy there for Le, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Le displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Walters. Le wants to clinch up but Walters keeps it at a distance. Walters fails with the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Johnny Walters. That's going to take a lot out of him. Walters misses with an uppercut. Le wants to clinch. Le uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Walters. Walters will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Garcia shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Peixoto 's guard. Garcia drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Garcia jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Garcia passes easily into side control. Nice work. Garcia is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Peixoto knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Garcia is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Peixoto is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Garcia is trying to get an arm triangle but Peixoto is defending well. Garcia is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Garcia has hold of Peixoto 's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Peixoto seems comfortable defending it but Garcia has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Peixoto is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Peixoto is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Garcia couldn't care less - he's delighted!
