The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kier has De Ertu up against the ropes in a clinch.

Kier has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but De Ertu regains guard immediately.

De Ertu is working an open guard so Kier takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Jarez De Ertu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kier keeps the fight on the outside.
De Ertu finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from De Ertu is defended easily by Kier.
Jarez De Ertu is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Kier swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and De Ertu is now in Kier's guard. A big mistake from Kier there, giving up the dominant position!

De Ertu is looking to take a break and control but Kier is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

De Ertu wants to stand and escape but instead Kier has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Kier seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Let's hope that Kier has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
