Turner looks to land a combination but Moreau avoids it well.
Moreau shoots in for a takedown but Turner shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Turner is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Moreau is nestled in close to Turner, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Moreau is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Turner is just riding it out for now. Moreau eventually gives up the hold.

Moreau looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Nichols tries to close the distance and clinch but Matthews swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Matthews blocks a jab.
Matthews stalks Nichols and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Nichols's face. Nichols staggers backwards, shaken.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Matthews fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Nichols manages to avoid it.
Nichols wants to clinch up but Matthews keeps it at a distance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nichols changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Matthews tries to avoid it but Nichols manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Matthews to the ground. Matthews escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Nichols darts in and clinches Matthews up against the cage.

Matthews escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Matthews scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

Matthews thows a body shot but no joy.
Nichols waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Matthews.
Nichols tries to land a leg kick but Matthews saw it coming and moves away.

and Matthews counters with a straight right hand.

Nichols is rocked!
Matthews gets in close and tags Nichols with a short punch that almost sends Nichols to the mat! Oh Nichols is in big trouble! He turns his back on Matthews, trying to create some distance but Matthews rushes him, striking wildly and Nichols goes down! The referee tackles Matthews into the cage to end the fight! Matthews is one violent man!

In his post fight interview, Michael Matthews started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
