3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Maurice Bruneau! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Paul Tew and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Weston gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Bruneau pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Weston is keeping the position for now. Weston working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Bruneau. Weston controls Bruneau momentarily but Bruneau frees himself. Bruneau slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Weston is on top in guard.
Weston cracks Bruneau with a solid left hand. Bruneau keeping moving, preventing Weston from controlling successfully. Bruneau should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Weston shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. That's two minutes gone in the round. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Bruneau connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Weston some visible discomfort.

The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Weston looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Nice strikes from Bruneau there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bruneau controlling the action here. Let's hope that Bruneau has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Weston misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Weston's guard. Bruneau looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Weston with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Bruneau uses his free foot to push down on Weston's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Weston. Bruneau looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Weston tries to get back to half guard but can't. Bruneau tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Michael Weston has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Maurice Bruneau is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
