1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dennis Bermudez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nick Watson! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, John Mangel and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Watson misses with a takedown so Bermudez counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Bermudez tries to free his leg and advance position but Watson is retaining full guard. Bermudez is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Watson is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Watson has escaped and now he's on top! Bermudez has a closed guard, preventing Watson from standing up. Watson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Bermudez is keeping the position for now. Bermudez lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Watson! Bermudez postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Watson looks a forlorn figure.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bermudez trying to control but he's not successful this time. Watson is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

It looks like Nick Watson has been cut. Bermudez looking to control and managing it successfully. Bermudez dominating with strikes here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bermudez landing strikes from the mount. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Bermudez trying to control but he's not successful this time. A nice elbow there by Bermudez.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bermudez looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Bermudez wants to control the pace but Watson is squirming around nicely. Bermudez is in the full mount, landing strikes. Watson tries to lock up and control but Bermudez gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Bermudez lands a nice shot to the head.
The cut above Nick Watson's eye is starting to cause him problems now. The referee warns Watson that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Nick Watson's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Nick Watson's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Carlyle Thor! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, John Mangel and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thor circles away from the clinch attempt.
Thor closes the distance and pushes Jones back into the cage. Thor is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Thor pulls guard effortlessly. Jones's corner is telling him to maintain position. Jones knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Thor on the ground. Thor is trying to keep Jones in close.
Thor pulls Jones in close to his closed guard and prevents Jones from doing any damage or advancing position. Jones has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Thor pushes Jones off and scrambles back to his feet.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Jones. Thor is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Jones's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thor kicks Jones off and gets back to his feet. Jones moves into the clinch. Thor tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Thor has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Jones regains guard immediately. Thor postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Jones working for submissions but it's allowed Thor to get to half guard.
Jones might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Jones wants to get back to full guard. Thor looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Thor stops Jones from getting back to his feet.
Thor takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Jones is looking for a sweep. Thor is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Thor lands with a punch from half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Thor wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jones keeps working. Jones wants to improve his position but Thor is controlling well.
Thor stands up out of the half guard. Thor tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jones sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Thor somewhat. Thor shoots in looking for a takedown but Jones manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Thor's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Thor looks gassed!
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fight moves into the clinch position. Jones manages to break the clinch.
Jones tries to clinch but Thor moves out of range. Thor misses the shot to the body. Thor gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Thor is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Jones gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Cal Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carlyle Thor. Jones has Thor pressed against the cage, preventing Thor from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Jones breaks from the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones dives in and grabs Thor's left leg, looking for a takedown. Thor pushes down on Jones's head and hops out. Thor looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Jones tries to score a power double leg takedown but Thor sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jones somewhat. Jones doesn't manage to clinch there - Thor circles away.
Jones looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Jones clinches up against the cage. Jones tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Thor smiles and moves away.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. A head kick misses from Jones. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Carlyle Thor dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Thor rushes Jones and presses him up against the cage. Thor is trying to break free. Thor is trying to push Jones away but Jones has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Jones tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Thor manages to break the clinch.
Jones fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Jones shoots in for a takedown but Thor shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cal Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him. A jab from Thor does it's job there. Jones closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Thor did well to prevent Jones getting side control. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Thor slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Thor wants to control the position but Jones says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thor gets full guard. Jones trying to control but Thor is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Thor is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Thor thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Jones's head. Thor wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jones keeps working.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Thor stands up out of the half guard. Jones is looking to clinch but Thor is avoiding it.
Thor shoots in but no luck this time. Thor is breathing heavily. Jones looks to land a body kick but Thor moved away. Thor is looking to clinch but Jones is avoiding it.
Thor takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. An inside leg kick lands from Jones. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Jones tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Thor paws at him with a jab and circles away. Thor fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Jones avoids it really well and circles away. Thor throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jones's waist but Jones gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Thor off to one side.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Thor defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Jones. Thor shoots for a double leg takedown but Jones sprawls well. He's pushed Thor's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Jones shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Thor tries to sprawl but Jones drives through with a takedown into half guard. Jones is trying to control the action in half guard but Thor is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Jones trying to control the pace. Jones is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Thor wants to sweep but Jones has passed to side control! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jones stands up and we're back to a striking position. Thor with a lazy takedown attempt and Jones counters with a shoot takedown. Thor fights it but they end up in guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Jones wants to control from the top but Thor keeps moving. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jones showing good wrestling skills to control the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jones tries to clinch up. Jones fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Thor to the ground. Jones is now in Thor's guard. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Thor holds on and takes a little breather. Thor is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Jones has his hands clasped together but Thor extends an breaks Jones's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Thor.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Spanish scores with a jab. Ferguson acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
It looks like Isaiah Ferguson has been cut. Spanish stuffs the takedown. Ferguson goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Spanish cracks Ferguson with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Ferguson looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Spanish finish him?
Ferguson is rocked! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ferguson lands with a thumping leg kick.
Oh Ferguson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Ferguson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Spanish tries to avoid it but Ferguson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Spanish to the ground. Spanish escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Spanish connects with a superb combination that knocks Ferguson out cold! The referee charges across the mat and tackles Spanish before he can land any more shots to the unconscious Ferguson!

and Ropuia counters with a nice uppercut.

Ropuia misses with a takedown attempt and Kau counters with a single leg into guard. Ropuia didn't expect that. Kau has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Kau trying to control the position from guard on top but Ropuia is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ropuia looking for a triangle here. Kau is fighting it but it looks tight! Ropuia pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Kau is tapping out - this one is all over!
