Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Julius Steel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dexter Rutecki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Steel might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Its a Fight. Rutecki is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Remember the Name. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

21 - 38 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dexter Rutecki! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Franklyn Lucas and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rutecki tries to clinch there but Steel circles away.
Steel throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Rutecki thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Steel if he has to take too many more of those.
Rutecki tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Steel paws at him with a jab and circles away. Rutecki throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Rutecki tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Rutecki tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Rutecki throws a head kick that misses. Steel avoids the head kick by Rutecki.
Steel finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Rutecki tries to clinch but Steel is having none of it. Steel throws a series of punches but Rutecki moves out of range. Steel takes a swing at Rutecki's ribcage but misses.

Rutecki connects with an inside leg kick. Steel is looking to score with low kicks. A head kick by Rutecki misses and Steel counters with a left and a right that stings Rutecki. Steel fails to land with a series of punches.

Steel falls off balance throwing a combination
and Rutecki counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Steel is lucky that one didn't land flush. Steel throws a right hand that Rutecki ducks under and follows up with a left that Rutecki also avoids with ease. Rutecki lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Steel connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Rutecki momentarily.

A close round but Dexter Rutecki will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Steel stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. A punch combination from Steel misses. Steel throws a series of punches but Rutecki moves out of range. Rutecki is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

That was a close second round but I would say that Julius Steel will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Rutecki fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Rutecki checks a leg kick. Steel lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Rutecki circles away quickly and effectively. Steel pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Steel feints a jab promting Rutecki to slip. Steel then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Rutecki slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Steel throws a right and a left that both miss. Steel scores with a leg kick.
Steel pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Rutecki back to the cage. Steel follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Rutecki throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Steel stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Steel feints a jab promting Rutecki to slip. Steel then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Rutecki slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

A telegraphed right hand from Steel misses the target. Steel takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

and Steel counters with a nice low kick that buckles Rutecki's knee momentarily. Steel throws a right and a left that Rutecki avoids nicely. Rutecki moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Steel has closed the distance and engaged Rutecki in a clinch.
Steel pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Steel uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Rutecki. Rutecki tries to close the distance and clinch up but Steel swats him away and circles back towards the center. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Rutecki throws a sloppy head kick and Steel moves out of range easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Steel lands with a nice combination. Rutecki backs away looking to recover. Steel looks to land a combination but Rutecki avoids it well. Steel closes the distance and clinches. Steel managing to block the knees to the body from Rutecki.

Rutecki throws a sloppy head kick and Steel counters with a one-two to the body. Rutecki takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Rutecki misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Drone takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Lombard rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Drone moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Lombard swinging wildly here.
Lombard attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Lombard clobbers Drone with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Lombard stuffs the takedown. Lombard swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Nice straight punches there by Lombard. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Lombard. A punch combination from Lombard misses. Drone avoids a punch combination nicely.

and Drone counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Drone seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Lombard has recovered full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Drone drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Lombard manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Drone has Lombard in his guard. Lombard stands up and waves to Drone to follow him. Lombard falls off balance throwing a combination
and Drone decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Lombard's guard. Lombard working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Drone doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Drone manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Lombard looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Lombard looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Lombard! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Drone is trying to work for a sweep but Lombard has mounted him! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Still in the clinch, Lombard scores with a nice short uppercut. Lombard keeps control of Drone as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Lombard has had enough of the clinch but Drone keeps him there for the moment. Lombard breaks the clinch.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Drone. Oooooh!!! Lombard has knocked Drone down with a huge combo! Lombard steps away and waves a wobbly Drone back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Drone is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Lombard throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Drone stumbling backwards into the cage! Drone bounces back off the cage towards Lombard, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Lombard lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Lombard celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:53 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Hector Lombard! A very excited looking Hector Lombard rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.

Swag In A Bag seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A looping hook to the body misses from Bag. Gracie does a little dance to reset his feet. Bag scores with a sloppy right hand. Gracie should have avoided that one. Gracie blocks a jab. Gracie tries to score with a low kick but Bag moves his leg out of the way. Bag misses with a low kick.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! A jab from Gracie finds it's way through Bag's defenses. Donk. Gracie catches Bag right on the button with a cross. Bag connects with a body shot.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here. A slow jab from Bag misses its intended target. Gracie fails to land the takedown. Gracie bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Gracie scoring with punches and elbows. Gracie tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gracie has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Gracie lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Bag down.
Gracie misses with the ground and pound. Bag wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. An elbow from Gracie crashes against the mat.
Gracie is trying to get an arm triangle but Bag is defending well. Bag is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bag fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gracie manages to avoid it. Gracie looking to score a takedown here. Bag is defending well but Gracie drives through and ends up in Bag's guard. Gracie has gone for a leg lock! Bag slips out almost immediately though and dives into Gracie's guard. Gracie trying to keep a closed guard but Bag is proving a slippery customer.

Bag is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Gracie is controlling him. Gracie throwing strikes but missing. Gracie missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Bag really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gracie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Gracie won't allow Bag to get back to his feet. Gracie wants to pass the guard but Bag is keeping the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gracie advances to half guard. Gracie winds up and cracks Bag with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Bag. Gracie fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

He's trying desperately to grab hold of Stakanu around the waist but Stakanu pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Stakanu is the winner by TKO! Stakanu jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
