And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kyle Rad!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Alexandre Firmino and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Rad. No joy for Hick on that attempt.
A decent looking cross lands there for Hick.
A solid leg kick lands there for Rad.
Rad looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Hick has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Hick there as he acknowledges the shot.
Hick tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Rad paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Hick fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Rad fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hick, pushing him back against the ropes.
Hick jumps guard but Rad stands there with Hick around his waist. Hick gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Johnny Hick. That's going to take a lot out of him.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hick tries to pull guard but Rad forces him back to his feet, against the ropes.

Rad's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rad lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Rad throws a front kick that sends Hick stumbling back into the ropes.
Hick shoots in but Rad avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Hick is breathing heavily.
Rad connects with a solid leg kick.
Rad turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Rad throws a nice outside leg kick.
Rad lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Rad scores with a jab.

It looks like Johnny Hick has been cut.
Kyle Rad seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Rad shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hick as he jumps to the side.
Rad slaps away a takedown attempt from Hick, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Rad cracks the inside of Hick's front leg.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rad fakes the leg kick and cracks Hick in the body.
Rad takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Rad smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Rad misses with a head kick.
Hick takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Rad is looking to slow Hick down with leg kicks.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Hick. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Rad scores with a hook.
Rad thows a body kick. Hick tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Rad connects with a looping right hand.
Good exchange - Rad coming out on top.

Hick is rocked!
Rad's jab looks to have found its range, popping Hick under the eye.
Oh Hick is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
BOOM! Rad lands a beautiful left hook that drops Hick. Hick tries to recover but Rad is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Hick lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!

Da Silva shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Da Silva showed some decent athleticism there.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Da Silva wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ribero keeps working.
Ribero moves into full guard.
Ribero wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Ribero controls Da Silva momentarily but Da Silva frees himself.

Ribero is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Da Silva is aware though and is defending well.
Ribero is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Da Silva is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Ribero has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Da Silva is looking to defend but Ribero has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Da Silva! Ribero pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Da Silva taps out and this one is all over!

Hoehne is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
