The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smokealot thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Smokealot is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Smokealot slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Fabiano really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Smokealot. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Smokealot is trying to get an arm triangle but Fabiano is defending well.

Smokealot is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Fabiano has escaped the position, nice work there.

Smokealot wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Fabiano, who protects the arm well.

Smokealot has hold of Fabiano's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Fabiano tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Smokealot cranks the arm and Fabiano screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Fabiano, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Jackson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sobrinho's waist but Sobrinho gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jackson off to one side.

Well Jackson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
