3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Marcus Shin! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Albert Achterberg and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shin throws a nice looking combination but Jones bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. A punch combination from Shin misses. Some wild striking there from Jones.
Jones throws a right hand that Shin ducks under and follows up with a left that Shin also avoids with ease. The fighters circling - Shin throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Jones misses with a hook. Jones waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Shin. Jones stalks Shin and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Shin's face. Shin staggers backwards, shaken. A slow jab from Jones misses its intended target. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Shin. No joy there for Jones, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Jones was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Excellent takedown into side control there by Shin. Shin is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Jones's shoulder. That is not cool. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Shin works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Jones is trying to improve his position. Jones on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Jones tries to get out of the position. Shin is putting a hurting on Jones here, landing some big shots from side control. That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Shin has just dragged him back down to the mat. Jones is letting Shin control him for a moment. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Jones struggling a bit here. Shin cracks Jones with a big elbow. Shin content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Shin has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Shin trying to control the action but Jones is working from the bottom. Jericho Jones is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shin working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Shin has hold of Jones's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Jones tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Shin cranks the arm and Jones screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Jones, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. MImbo passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Fassbender! Fassbender wants to try and get back to his feet. MImbo working the ground and pound effectively.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! MImbo is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Fassbender with him. Fassbender is trying to defend but MImbo has an arm under the chin now! Fassbender grimaces and is forced to tap out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Blunt gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Sly landing some decent shots from guard. Blunt keeping full guard, as Sly tries to pass. Sly trying to control but Blunt is working from the bottom. Blunt looking for a sweep. Not yet Blunt, not yet. Sly being controlled here momentarily. Sly in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Blunt has his hands on Sly's head, controlling the position.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Philly Blunt wasn't active enough on the ground. Blunt lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
