Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
25 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joe Average! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Better Muller! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Muller thows a left - swing and a miss! A right-left combo lands from Muller.
It looks like Joe Average has been cut. Muller just misses with a punch to the body.
Muller misses with a straight right. Muller chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Average shoots in and gets a takedown into Muller's guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Average is looking to work some ground and pound but Muller has wrist control. Average throwing strikes but missing. Muller working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Average. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Average slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Average is working Muller over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Muller scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Muller misses with a low kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Average shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Muller pinned against the cage. Muller gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Muller's corner calls for a 1-2. Muller obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Muller throws a series of strikes that have Average backpedaling.
Muller gets the takedown into side control. Average is looking for a sweep. Average pushes Muller away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Muller gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Average stops Muller from passing to mount. Average has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Average manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Muller wants to improve his position but Average is controlling well.

Average thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Average is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Muller doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Average. Muller won't allow Average to pass to mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Average is looking to take a break and control but Muller is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Average looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Average is trying to control. Muller wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Muller is trying to get back to full guard. Average thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Muller's head. Average perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Joe Average just wasn't active enough. Nice uppercut there from Muller. Muller swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
enabling Average to counter with a crisp jab. Muller manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Average on his heels. He'll look to pass Average's guard now, I'm sure. Average looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Average is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Muller rolls with it to try and escape but Average cranks on the arm and Muller is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kelo clinches up against the cage. A short right from Kelo on the inside. Kelo throws a head punch that misses. Pavicevic wants to take the fight to the mat but Kelo manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Kelo misses with a punch to the body.
Kelo softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Pavicevic prevents a body shot from Kelo. Kelo lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Pavicevic tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Pavicevic tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Kelo manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Kelo turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Kelo is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Pavicevic will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Pavicevic wants to pass the guard but Kelo is keeping the position. Kelo manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Pavicevic manages to get himself to full guard.

Kelo postures up and lands a big shot to Pavicevic's brow. Kelo looking to pass the guard. Kelo stands and throws Pavicevic's legs to the side, diving into side control. Kelo working the ground and pound from side control. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Kelo working the head with strikes. Pavicevic is looking to reverse the position. Pavicevic wants to control but Kelo postures up.

Pavicevic is not content to let Kelo control the position. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Kelo in particular looking to stall. Kelo lands with a punch from half guard. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Kelo scoring with strikes to the body and head. Pavicevic trying to control here.
Kelo seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Pavicevic does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pavicevic is working to get back to half guard.
Pavicevic is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Kelo landing shots from mount. Pavicevic is still in real trouble! Can Kelo finish him? This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Pavicevic is squirming around, avoiding Kelo's attempts to control the action. Pavicevic is looking to get to half guard. Kelo avoids the attempt from Pavicevic to control. Pavicevic takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Kelo controlling from the full mount. Kelo can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Pavicevic is looking to escape. Kelo lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Pavicevic hang on?

He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Kelo land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Kelo stands and salutes the crowd.

Jacobs cracks De Andreas with an open hand slap. Jacobs feints and then cracks De Andreas's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow De Andreas down. Joey De Andreas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. De Andreas drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. De Andreas shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Jacobs napping and manages to drive through into side control! De Andreas is working Jacobs over with some ground and pound from side control. Jacobs regains half guard, as De Andreas was trying to land strikes. Jacobs flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Callahan blocks a body shot from Matsui. Matsui lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Callahan backwards. Callahan wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Callahan misses with a punch on the inside.

Callahan shoots in for a takedown but Matsui shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Thomas Callahan. That's going to take a lot out of him. Matsui scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Callahan doesn't seem bothered though. Callahan rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Matsui moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Matsui lands with a hook. Callahan tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Matsui moves into range and clinches up with Callahan. Matsui is trying to stall.

Callahan slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Matsui darts in and clinches Callahan up against the cage. Callahan stalling the fight.

Good anti-grappling being displayed by Matsui as Callahan tries to tie him up. Callahan tries to work over Matsui's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Callahan goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith looks to land a combination but Dussander avoids it well. Dussander fails in his attempt to clinch. Dussander walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Smith scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Dussander is looking for a sweep. Smith tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Dussander is looking to regain half guard here but Smith keeps moving and retains side control. Dussander is trying to control Smith's posture but Smith avoids it. Smith throwing shots but missing, from side control. Dussander is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Smith's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Smith lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Dussander is trying to control but can't.

Dussander tries to hold on but Smith postures up. Smith pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Dussander is rocked! Smith landing punches. Dussander is still in real trouble! Can Smith finish him? Smith postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Dussander in real trouble here! The ref calls for Dussander to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!

A very excited looking Heath Smith made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! R showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Utini.
R slips a jab and a cross from Utini.
Decent striking displayed by Utini there. R looks to throw the jab but Utini is out of range. Sloppy strikes from Utini. Those never looked like landing. Utini lunges at R with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by R's hand. Utini really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. R rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Utini moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Utini throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
R throws the kick towards the body but Utini avoids it. R misses with a straight left. Goro Utini seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. R tries to clinch there but Utini circles away.
Utini looks to score with a jab to the body but R is just out of range. Utini connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Utini lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but R circles away quickly and effectively. Utini is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Utini scores with the left hand. R knows he should have avoided that one.

and R decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Utini's guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Utini keeping full guard, as R tries to pass. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! R landing some decent shots from guard. Utini is pulling down on R's head. It's preventing any offense from R, at least for the moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

R misses with a hook. Utini ducked under it nicely. R on the wrong end of a nice hook. Gage R is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Utini, as that shot connected.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! R working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Utini's thigh. Utini counters though and makes it back to full guard. R advances position into side control! Utini is working to avoid the ground and pound but R connects with a decent elbow. Utini is trying to improve his position. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Utini wants to control but R postures up. R lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. R wants to lay and pray for a moment but Utini keeps working.

Utini will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. The fighters are battling for position here. R manages to regain full guard. Nice work. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Utini trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Utini wants to control from the top but R keeps moving. R has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Utini wants to pass the guard but R is keeping the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Goro Utini will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Utini goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Utini loads up on a big right hand but R slips the punch. R clobbers Utini with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Utini keeps R at a distance using the push kick. R throws a head kick but Utini moves out of range.

Utini pushes R away with a front kick. Utini keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from R. R moves out of range as Utini strikes. R throws a lazy uppercut
and Utini counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. R is lucky that one didn't land flush. Utini sizes up R with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Utini misses with a body kick. R fails to land with a series of punches.
That's one minute gone in the round. Utini lands with a hook. R tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Utini misses with an uppercut. R saw that one coming. Utini avoids the head kick by R.
R throws a right and a left that Utini avoids nicely. Utini turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Utini tries to land a front kick but R steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Utini misses with a wild body shot. R has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye. R throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Goro Utini is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Utini uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from R. Utini jabs R to the body, keeping him at a distance. A slow jab from R misses its intended target. Nice body kick there by Utini. A nice combination there by Utini.
Goro Utini is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Goro Utini is winning the standup battle so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. R on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. R blocks a jab. A telegraphed right hand from R misses the target. This has been an exciting period of action! Utini lands a nice hook to R's body. R takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Utini comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
And that's the end of the fight! Goro Utini showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Utini, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

McDougle tries to close the distance and clinch but Tarzan swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Tarzan avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

McDougle trying to control the position but instead, Tarzan has worked for underhooks and has pushed McDougle into the cage. Tarzan breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
McDougle lands a big uppercut and Tarzan crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Tarzan looks OK. McDougle waves Tarzan back to his feet! Oh Tarzan is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! McDougle throws a body punch but Tarzan moves out of range. Tarzan seems to have got his legs back now. McDougle scores with a nice body kick.

McDougle closes the distance and lands a crisp combination that knocks Tarzan out cold! Tarzan corner are devastated, head in hands behind our commentary position. Poor guys.

He has Lind in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. Lind misses with a short punch on the inside. Nogg lands a nice uppercut. Nogg tries to throw a body punch but Lind avoids it by throwing Nogg back against the cage. A short uppercut from Nogg. Lind wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Lind throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Lind fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Nogg is out of range. Nogg fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Lind is looking to land body kicks. A big left from Nogg misses. Nogg checks a leg kick nicely. Nogg rushes Lind and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. A nice left hand lands by Nogg.
