Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bobby Tate! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chester Gates! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Robert Douchet and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tate looks for a takedown but Gates sprawls well. Gates tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Tate swivels and escapes. Gates throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Gates misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Tate.
A combination from Tate does no damage. Tate walks into a left hand. Tate gets a clinch. Gates drops down looking for an ankle pick but Tate pulls his leg out and moves away.
Tate shoots in for a takedown but Gates shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. No luck for Gates with that takedown attempt. Bobby Tate has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chester Gates. Gates fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Gates closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Tate's guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Tate moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Tate bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Gates's guard. Tate throws a strike but Gates rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Tate is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gates trying to control but Tate is working from the bottom. Gates content to stall in guard here. Gates wants to control from the top but Tate keeps moving. Tate has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gates can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gates passes into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tate is staying active underneath Gates, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Tate moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Tate keeping moving, preventing Gates from controlling successfully. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Tate tries to land a sweep but no joy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tate works over Gates with some ground and pound from guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tate stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gates swivels though and keeps the full guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Gates wants to sweep but no luck. Tate wants to control from the top but Gates keeps moving. Tate wants to get up but he can't break Gates's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tate has gone for a leg lock! Gates slips out almost immediately though and dives into Tate's guard. Tate wants to stand and escape but Gates is having none of it. Tate trying to keep a closed guard but Gates is proving a slippery customer.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Tate throws a sloppy head kick and Gates moves out of range easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tate shoots in looking for a takedown but Gates manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Tate's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Gates is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Tate displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Gates. Tate throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Gates shoots in but Tate avoids the takedown attempt easily. Jay Daniels is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Slice fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Daniels. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Jimbo Slice showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Jay Daniels has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jimbo Slice. Slice moves away from the strike by Daniels. Slice lands a really nice looking cross but Daniels seems unphased.

Slice lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Daniels looks to land a left hand but Slice moved out of range nicely. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Slice lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Daniels has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Daniels and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Slice comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Borocop thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Wickline to his feet! Wickline is in big trouble!
Wickline is rocked! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Borocop cracks Wickline with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Wickline tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Borocop pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Wickline is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
