And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ranu Tedja!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Alyssa Summers and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Segre misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Tedja is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Segre throws a body kick that misses.
Tedja shoots in looking for a takedown but Segre manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Tedja's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Segre shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Tedja but Tedja pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Segre could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Tedja wanted to stand there but Segre had control of the position.

Segre is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Segre drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Tedja gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Tedja jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Segre walks away with a smile on his face. Tedja gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Tedja looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Segre is looking for a sweep. Tedja is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Tedja leaves Segre with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Segre closes the distance and pushes Tedja back into the cage.
Tedja keeps control of Segre as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Tedja tries to stall but Segre uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close round but I would say that Gabe Segre will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Tedja throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Segre.

Tedja throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Segre.

Tedja shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Segre but Segre pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Gabe Segre has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ranu Tedja.

Segre changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Tedja tries to avoid it but Segre manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Tedja to the ground. Tedja escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Tedja has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Segre uses from the top position.
Segre wants to get up but he can't break Tedja's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Tedja drops back, looking for a kneebar! Segre looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Segre looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Segre!
