16 - 19 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brian Lobe! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Luis Engracia and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Filcic swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Filcic displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Lobe. Filcic keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Filcic cracks Lobe with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Filcic looks to throw the jab but Lobe is out of range. Lobe shoots in but Filcic avoids the takedown attempt easily. Sandro Filcic has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brian Lobe. Lobe shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Filcic as he avoids it easily. Filcic closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Filcic using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Lobe has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Filcic lands a right hand that snaps the head of Lobe backwards. Filcic tries to throw a body punch but Lobe avoids it by throwing Filcic back against the cage. Filcic with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. Filcic lands with a light punch inside. Filcic manages to break the clinch.
Lobe misses with a takedown and Filcic counters with a good, hard body kick but Lobe shrugs it off. Lobe looks winded!
That's one minute gone in the round. Lobe tries to sprawl but Filcic drives through with a takedown into half guard. Lobe tries to roll over but Filcic keeps him under control. Filcic is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Lobe! Filcic is looking to work his way around to Lobe's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position. Lobe really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Filcic forces the positional change into back control. Lobe is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Filcic gets his way!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Lobe rolls, trying to escape but Filcic keeps control of the position.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thorne thumps Statkiewicz with a low kick. Thorne stuffs the takedown. Statkiewicz displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Thorne. Statkiewicz is looking to clinch but Thorne is avoiding it.

Slice tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Offembach is in Slice's guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Offembach throws a strike but Slice rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Slice preventing the sweep. Offembach has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Offembach shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Offembach showed some decent athleticism there. Offembach wants to take a breather but Slice is having none of it.
