Alcindor has chosen could you be loved by Bob Marley as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alcindor showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Bammer.

Alcindor is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Alcindor distracts Bammer with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Alcindor keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Bammer's head.
Alcindor postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Alcindor passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Alcindor grinds an elbow into Bammer's temple.

Bammer is rocked!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Alcindor lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Oh Bammer is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Alcindor scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Bammer is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Alcindor can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!

Smith shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Smith showed some decent athleticism there.
Barnes is pressing down on Smith's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Smith throws a big elbow that misses.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Barnes bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Smith's guard.

Smith is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Barnes defends well.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Smith had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Barnes defends it easily.
Barnes wants to control from the top but Smith keeps moving.
Barnes postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Smith has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Barnes is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Smith.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Barnes connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Barnes lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Barnes jabs Smith to the body, keeping him at a distance.

Barnes lands a big uppercut and Smith crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Smith looks OK. Barnes waves Smith back to his feet!

Clifton Barnes is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Barnes cracks Smith's jaw with two stiff jabs then ducks low and throws a soul-severing right uppercut to the mouth!! Smith slumps to the ground with blood on his lips. The referee steps in before Barnes can do further damage! This one is done, son!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Clifton Barnes!
Our winner, Clifton Barnes, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
