The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alvarez clobbers Shaddix with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Alvarez gets caught flat footed, as Shaddix shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Shaddix has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Alvarez is proving hard to escape from. Shaddix wants to pass the guard but Alvarez is keeping the position. Shaddix must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Alvarez wants to stand but Shaddix is controlling the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Alvarez tries to land a sweep but no joy. Alvarez is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Shaddix wants to pass the guard but Alvarez is keeping the position. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Shaddix accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Alvarez grabs hold of a leg and drops back for a hell hook! The two fighters roll across the mat, with Shaddix trying to push Alvarez off... Shaddix taps! He's tapped! This one is all over! A throwback to the old Pancrase there with an infrequently seen submission hold! Nice work.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Duran lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
It looks like Cassius Marcellus Clay has been cut. Clay throws a sloppy head kick and Duran moves out of range easily. Clay tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Duran swivels and escapes. A combination from Clay does no damage. Duran fails with the takedown. Duran slaps away a takedown attempt from Clay, before circling back to the center of the mat. Duran lands a left and a right that send Clay crashing to the mat, dazed. Duran thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Clay is rocked! Clay looks gassed! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Duran moves in close and cracks Clay with a massive right hand! Clay, frozen momentarily in time, tumbles to the canvas, already out cold! A brutal knockout by Duran!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A combination from Turbano does no damage. Turbano throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Nguyen. Turbano lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Nguyen fails with a takedown attempt. A nice inside leg kick there by Turbano. That's going to slow Nguyen down. Nguyen looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Turbano is fending him off so far but Nguyen persists. Nope, Turbano circles away and we're back to standing. Nguyen shoots in looking for a takedown. Turbano tries to sprawl out of it but Nguyen keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Wilson tries to hold on but Toney postures up. Toney takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Wilson's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Toney controlling his opponent. Wilson is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Wilson can do anything to dispel that myth. Wilson is trying to stand up. The referee stands the fighters back up. Frank Toney just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Wilson misses with a low kick as Toney jumps back. Toney is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Toney feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Toney trying to control the position from guard on top but Wilson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wilson keeping moving, preventing Toney from controlling successfully. Toney is really struggling to control Wilson but he's trying to hold on to the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
