The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Winchester loads up on a big right hand but Michaels slips the punch. Winchester misses with an uppercut. Winchester throws a hook but Michaels blocks it. Winchester throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Danga de danga de dang - Winchester scores with a four punch combination! Michaels throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Winchester cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Michaels missing with a left hand there. Winchester was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Michaels throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

He bounces straight back to his feet but is forced to take the mandatory standing 8 count before he's allowed to continue. We're back under way and the fighters meet in the middle of the canvas to re-engage.

Michaels fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Winchester has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Winchester walks into a straight right hand and goes down! Michaels rushes to a neutral corner so the count doesn't get delayed but Winchester has made it back to his feet on 5. He's OK so we're back to the action. This has been an exciting period of action! Michaels misses with a hook. Michaels cracks Winchester with a perfect right hand that drops him to the mat! Winchester is sitting up but I can't see if he's OK from my position. The referee's count has reached 5,6,7 and Winchester is still not up. Can he make it? 8,9, he's up! Wow, he cut that one a bit fine!

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Shebanov wants to get back to striking at distance but Hammer won't allow it.
Shebanov wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Hammer has him pressed against the ropes. Hammer tries to stall but Shebanov uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hammer comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
