Yaya misses with the combination.

Lavigne drives through with a takedown into Yaya's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Bobo Yaya seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Lavigne decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Yaya's guard.

Yaya is working an open guard so Lavigne takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Yaya throws a perfectly timed hook that sends Lavigne crashing down! Lavigne tries to stagger back to his feet but Yaya just hammers him until the ref stops the fight! A confused Lavigne asks the ref what just happened. Poor fella.

In his post fight interview, Bobo Yaya started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.

The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Micheangelo Fripello and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Weshole tries to close the distance and clinch but Kalawaia swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Weshole changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kalawaia tries to avoid it but Weshole manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kalawaia to the ground. Kalawaia escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Weshole is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Kalawaia throws an overhand right that lands on Weshole's shoulder, as Weshole tries to avoid the shot.
Weshole displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Kalawaia throws out the jab.
Weshole moves in looking to clinch but Kalawaia pushes him off.
Weshole has a takedown stuffed.
Kalawaia misses with a jab, cross combination.
Kalawaia throws a shot from downtown. Weshole moves away and avoids it.

Weshole shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kalawaia sprawls well. Kalawaia wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Weshole gets slowly back to his feet.

Kalawaia lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Kalawaia throws a nice looking combination but Weshole bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kalawaia Rushes Weshole and starts throwing punches like they are going out of style! Weshole is up against the cage and has nowhere to go. Kalawaia Piles on the pressure and Weshole crumples to the floor! This one is all over!
