The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Minden feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Balboa sprawling to the canvas! Balboa rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Minden finish him?!
It looks like Rokky Balboa has been cut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Minden circles away from the clinch attempt.

Minden is trying to pull guard but Balboa turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Balboa can't find room to land a body shot as Minden controls the action.

Minden wants to clinch up but Balboa keeps it at a distance. Minden cracks Balboa with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Balboa falls to his knees and Minden doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dee lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Smirnov circles away quickly and effectively. Dee clinches. Smirnov tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Smirnov has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Dee avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Smirnov is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Dee is defending well for now. Smirnov tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Dee trying to control but Smirnov is working from the bottom. Smirnov is still in real trouble! Can Dee finish him? The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dee stands up from Smirnov's guard - Dee perhaps looking for a knockout. Smirnov seems to have recovered his senses. Dee feints with a jab and clips Smirnov right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! Smirnov is sent crashing into the canvas and Dee leaps in for the kill! Smirnov tries to get to his feet but Dee is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Smirnov is in need of a savior and steps in!

Pong stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Pong unloads a knee to the mid-section. Wilson lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Pong pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Pong cracks Wilson with a brutal left hook that knocks him out cold! This one is over in a flash! Game over!

Dicks is defending well against a takedown attempt. Marley misses with a short punch on the inside. Marley has Dicks pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Marley pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Dicks tumbling to the mat - Marley dives into Dicks's guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Marley looking to sit in guard and control but Dicks gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dicks is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Marley has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Dicks is looking to defend but Marley has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Dicks! Marley pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Dicks taps out and this one is all over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brown throws a right hand that misses
and Gustin counters with a straight right hand. Brown takes a body punch but keeps moving. Gustin gets in close and instigates a clinch. Brown misses with a short punch on the inside. A battle for position here, against the cage. Gustin tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Brown's elbow. Brown breaks from the clinch.
Brown tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Brown misses with a body shot.
Brown throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Gustin sees it coming and avoids it easily. Brown gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Gustin. Brown missing with a left hand there. Gustin was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Brown misses with a left hand and Brown takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. and Gustin counters with a right hand to the body. Gustin cracks Brown with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Gustin lands a jab to the nose. Brown throws a body punch but Gustin moves out of range. Gustin lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Andre Brown seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! A big right from Brown misses. Brown throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Gustin lands a jab to the head.
Gustin scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Gustin tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Brown manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Brown walks into a stiff left hand from Gustin. Brown misses with a left hand and Gustin counters with a head kick that drops Brown to the mat! Brown scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
Brown is rocked! Gustin delivers a nice body kick. Brown is still on wobbly legs! Can Gustin finish him?
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brown is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Gustin. Brown seems to have recovered his senses. Gustin lands with an uppercut that bounces Brown off the cage and back into range. Gustin sends Brown crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Brown stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Gustin. Gustin clinches up against the cage. Gustin scores with a nice hook to the head. Nice body punch from Gustin - that landed with a thud.
Gustin lands with a short head shot on the inside. Gustin taking a breather. Gustin pushes Brown back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Brown tries to stall but Gustin uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Brown is trying to break the clinch but Gustin is controlling him. Brown trying to control the position but instead, Gustin has worked for underhooks and has pushed Brown into the cage. Gustin digs a right hand into Brown's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Brown's gas tank.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brown wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Gustin keeps control of Brown as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Brown tries to break the clinch but Gustin is controlling the position. Brown tries to break free but Gustin pushes him back against the cage. Brown looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Gustin lands with a left to the head. Gustin scores with a hook to the body. Brown looks winded! Gustin lands a shot to the body. Gustin lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Gustin lands a left hand that snaps the head of Brown backwards. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Gustin throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Browns head. Brown tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Brown is looking to break free of the clinch but Gustin has double underhooks. Brown wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Brown takes a shot to the head. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Gustin drops Brown onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Brown is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet! Gustin is pushing Brown up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Gustin lands a nice shot to the body. Gustin slows down the pace here.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Brown prevents a body shot from Gustin. Gustin makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. A left hand lands to the body for Gustin.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gustin throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Gustin, as that shot connected.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Brown misses with a wild body shot. Brown missing with a left hand there. Gustin was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Melvin Gustin is winning the standup battle so far. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Brown!
Andre Brown is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Brown takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Gustin listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Gustin throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Brown's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Gustin dives in looking to finish as Brown flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Gustin's strikes! Gustin is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Brown's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Brown was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackson throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Jackson tries to clinch up but Nantakarn circles away and keeps his distance. Jackson blocks a head kick by Nantakarn.

A punch combination from Jackson misses. A looping hook to the body misses from Jackson. Nantakarn does a little dance to reset his feet. Jackson looks to land a combination but Nantakarn avoids it well. Good leg kick by Nantakarn there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Jackson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Nantakarn as he jumps to the side. Jackson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Nantakarn feints and then cracks Jackson's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Jackson down. Nantakarn lands a leg kick that knocks Jackson off balance momentarily. Nantakarn tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Jackson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joshua Jackson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nantakarn buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson throws the kick towards the body but Nantakarn avoids it. Jackson finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Jackson is breathing heavily. A head kick by Jackson misses and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Jackson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Nantakarn is pressing down on Jackson's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Nantakarn can do anything to dispel that myth. Nantakarn managing to control the position. Nantakarn preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Jackson won't allow Nantakarn to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Nantakarn manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jackson manages to get himself to full guard.
Nantakarn stays in close to Jackson's body and controls the position. Jackson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Jackson tries to land a sweep but no joy. Jackson being controlled here, momentarily. Nantakarn's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Joshua Jackson just wasn't active enough. Jackson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Nantakarn sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jackson somewhat. Jackson shoots for a takedown but Nantakarn saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Jackson has a takedown stuffed. Jackson misses with a body kick. Nantakarn bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Jackson misses the shot to the body. Joshua Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jackson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Nantakarn is fending him off so far but Jackson persists. Nope, Nantakarn circles away and we're back to standing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jackson moves to clinch but Nantakarn breaks away and Nantakarn counters with an outside leg kick.
Jackson throws a right and a left that Nantakarn avoids nicely. Nantakarn connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Thahan Nantakarn is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Jackson misses with a few strikes there.
Jackson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Nantakarn swats him away and circles back towards the center. Nantakarn defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Jackson. A punch combination from Jackson misses. Jackson avoids the body shot from Nantakarn.
Jackson is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Nantakarn displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Jackson. Nantakarn dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Jackson. That did some damage! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jackson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Nantakarn swivels and escapes. Nantakarn throws a head kick that half lands.
Jackson tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Nantakarn fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Jackson. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Thahan Nantakarn dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. A good leg kick by Nantakarn. Nantakarn throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. A punch combination from Jackson misses. Thahan Nantakarn seems to be getting the better of the standup. Jackson misses with a jab, cross combination.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Nantakarn connects with a solid leg kick. Jackson takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Nantakarn lands a big head kick that sends Jackson tumbling to the mat! Nantakarn takes a step backwards and waves Jackson back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Joshua Jackson has been cut. Jackson tries to land a front kick but Nantakarn steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Oh Jackson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Nantakarn scores with a nice body kick.

Nantakarn connects with a high kick. Nantakarn uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Jackson. Nantakarn lands a nice looking body kick. Nantakarn waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Jackson. Jackson throws a right and a left that Nantakarn avoids nicely. Joshua Jackson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Nantakarn thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Jackson if he has to take too many more of those.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A good leg kick by Nantakarn. Nantakarn throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. A low kick from Jackson is predictable there and Nantakarn counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Jackson throws a wild body kick that Nantakarn sees coming a mile off. Nantakarn scoring well with a low kick there.

Nantakarn lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
